Public service announcement: the Amazon Black Friday deals page is live. Now, we do need to immediately attach the disclaimer that it doesn't mean Black Friday has begun on Amazon, but there are several reasons why you need to sit up and pay attention.
Amazon are masters of a sales event – so much so that Black Friday 2018 was their busiest day on the site. So, we are looking forward to even bigger and better deals from them in 2019.
Why wouldn't you want to be prepared for these? We will be keeping an eye out for them, but if you want to be sure to grab a deal, bookmark Amazon's Black Friday page which has already gone live. Check back in the run up in case any sales go live early. Insider tip: there are already a few pretty nifty deals on there.
What will Amazon Black Friday be like?
Amazon do a few different types of deals during their sales. Some will last the full duration of the sale (or as long as stocks last), but they also do Lightning Deals and their usual Deal of the Day promotions. Lightning Deals can drop at any time and may only last 12 hours. In the past, these have tended to go live just before midday and boast the promise of an extra discount on top items like power tools, appliances and cleaning products (but to name a few).
We will be rounding up the very best deals from Amazon during the sale (and in the run-up).
What can I buy on Amazon on Black Friday?
Everything you would usually buy on Amazon will be up for grabs, but at a fraction of its regular price. Like Amazon Prime Day, Black Friday gives Amazon a great opportunity to whip up a sales frenzy and offer even more competitive pricing than usual.
We know that Amazon's own devices – such as the Amazon Echo series and Amazon Fire TV Stick – will definitely be up for grabs. As well as these, home security devices and smart home tech that is Alexa compatible will be on offer. Expect these to be bundled with Amazon devices for an easy smart home starter kit (and a good Christmas present idea). We put all of the best Amazon smart home deals in one place for your convenience.
If you are a Mrs Hinch follower, Amazon is the place to be on Black Friday to top up on cleaning supplies. They sometimes package together all of the products from a top brand like Domestos or Finish. More unusual bulk offers from previous years include 50 packs of loo roll for under £10 – might be a sensible buy if you are having lots of guests over the festive period...
Finally, if you have had your eye on a new vacuum cleaner, drill, electric toothbrush or other appliance/personal electricals then Amazon will not disappoint. Vax, Dyson, Shark, Bosch, and Oral-B all slash their prices for Black Friday. Use our buying guides to research the best products so that you know you are buying the best of the best on the big day.
Why should you buy from Amazon on Black Friday?
If you have Amazon Prime then you can get the items you buy sooner than many retailers can promise delivery. Be mindful that the next day delivery will not be available on all products though. If you don't have Amazon Prime, they often cut subscription prices around Black Friday, so subscribe to get Prime TV and the delivery benefits before you make a purchase.
Another reason to use Amazon is that you can buy pretty much anything on there. If you have a few things on your Black Friday shopping list, getting them in one place makes shopping the sales much easier.
