Disney Plus: Top 10 movies

10. Mary Poppins Returns

Yet to see this sequel? While we're more than happy to say it doesn't compare to the original (it's hard to beat!) Emily Blunt plays the part incredibly. It's just as much magical, you'll find yourself singing along without realising and it'll leave you smiling. Julie Walters, Colin Firth, Meryl Streep, Dick Van Dyke and more star. Just a spoonful of sugar...

9. Thor: Ragnarok

If you watched Thor 1 and 2 and considered these movies a write off, we feel ya. Do not let this put you off Thor: Ragnarok. Why? This movie is well worth a watch. For starters, The Hulk is in it – Chris Hemsworth and Mark Ruffalo? Sold. Also, keep an eye out for our favourite Marvel character ever – we don't use this term lightly –named Korg who is played by Taika Waititi. It's also funny! Hands down this is one of the best Marvel movies around.

8. Aladdin (2019)

Great casting paired with vibrant colours and even better singing makes this new Disney movie more than worthy of a place on this list and our best Disney moves roundup. Directed by Guy Richie, it's based on the 1992 animated movie Aladdin but in our opinion, is much better. Will Smith stars as the genie and makes a truly incredible job of it. We loved it.

7. Frozen

Because we couldn't not include Frozen on this list, could we? Kids love it! Catchy songs, loveable characters and a great storyline. Based on two royal sisters – Anna and Elsa – the story begins as their city, Arundel, is accidentally turned to from Elsa's uncontrollable powers. Anna sets off to find her sister in the depths of winter, along with an ice man named Kristoff and she meets a few special people on the way. An alternative ending to most Disney films, which is why it more than deserves a place on our list. Oh, and Idina Menzel, Kristen Bell and Josh Gud star.

6. The Pirates of The Caribbean

The first of these movies will always be the best, in our opinion, but either way it doesn't matter because the entire franchise is available to watch on Disney+ now. Kiera Knightley, Orlando Bloom and Johnny Depp star these movies, which, by the way, are an adaptation of the ride! Interesting.

5. UP

Get the tissues ready, because this one is a tearjerker. A story about an old man whose wife passes away (we're already tearing up), UP follows his life as he goes on an adventure in his flying house to Paradise Falls, a place his wife always dreamed of visiting. There's a boy scout, a talking dog and Kevin, the South American bird who end up joining on route. And of course, a bad guy. It's a Disney film for all ages and a great Saturday evening watch. John Ratzenberger stars.

4. The Parent Trap

Fresh out of 1998, this movie follows twins who are separated at birth, one goes with their mum to London and the other with their dad to California. The twins meet at camp and in a bid to get their parents back together, switch places. Both twins are played by Lindsey Lohan.

3. Guardians of The Galaxy

Both volumes of this movie are ready to watch on Disney+. And we think they're a great addition to the otherwise strong Marvel franchise. Some of our favourite Marvel characters star including Groot (so cute!) and Rocket. The soundtrack is incredible, the storyline is even better and it's action-packed so you'll be at the edge of your seat. I am Groot.

2. Toy Story

A slightly different pick from the above, but Toy Story is definitely up there on this list. Not only are there four (!!!) of these films, but the storyline really hits deep. If you don't already know, these movies follow a group of toys who come to life once their owner (Andy) leaves the room. Not only do these movies have Tom Hanks and Tim Allen at the heart of them, but also Joan Cusack, Timothy Dalton, Wallace Shawn, Kelsey Grammer, Keanu Reeves, Michael Keaton and many more.

1. 10 Things I Hate About You

Starring Heath Ledger, Julia Stiles and Joseph Gordon Levitt, this rom-com is one of the best ever made. We don't want to spoil much but it'll have you singing, crying and rooting for the unexpected. A strict father and two completely opposite sisters, both of which aren't allowed to date... not much can go wrong.
