The best mini projectors

Whether at home or away, get fantastic picture quality with a mini projector

TODO alt text

Gone are the days when projectors resembled those large, heavy pieces of kit our teachers used in class to show us some very questionable handwritten slides. Today a projector is the perfect gadget for your home theatre, office or even camping trip.

Most compact projectors will give you all the same features as a standard sized projector, just in a smaller package. Naturally, resolution isn’t going to be as high, but you can still get ones of up to 1280x800 such as the Optoma ML750ST in our top spot.

Lumens (or perceived light levels) aren’t as important with a mini projector, especially if you are using it for business presentations. But if you want the picture to be bright for watching movies at home, for example, then there are mini projectors on the market offering up to 2000 lumens, such as the ExquizOn S6 Mini Cube Pocket DLP Projector, but you might have to compromise on size and portability.

The super-mini projector uses one direct LED light to produce 2000 lumens when projecting images, and you can create a screen size of up to 100 inches. The battery life is impressive at around one to two hours and it also features a built-in speaker for high-quality audio when watching movies. This would be ideal for students living away from home or anyone looking to stream content from their smart device without a television.
