Camille is Deputy Editor of Realhomes.com and has been writing for many years on everything from home interiors, decor and gardening to travel, food and fashion. Having rented for most of her adult life, she has a way of transforming dull or tiny homes into cozy, stylish spaces and she's all for a natural cleaning hack or two also. Her love of interior design stemmed from a childhood spent dreaming up weird and wonderful ways to renovate her grandma’s house in France and growing up around very good-looking house plants and in hardworking kitchen gardens, where everything grew marvelously, gave her a green thumb and natural pull to living an eco-friendly life.

Experience

Camille pursued studies in English language and Italian at the University of Manchester, hoping to one day work in publishing, and therefore spent her year abroad in Italy blogging about Bologna’s porticoes, drinking too much coffee and prosecco. To this day she believes that she made prosecco a thing in the UK… After completing her BA Hons, and writing for various PR agencies and local newspapers, she moved to Bristol and started working for a very well-known candle company, allowing her to dip her toes into the world of home decor, before taking a copywriting position and eventually joining RealHomes in 2020. Over the past few years, Camille has spent time making rented spaces liveable and beautiful, and has had the pleasure of bossing other people around in their own home renovations also. She further tapped into, what is a fully-fledged gardening obsession, by completing an RHS practical gardening course in 2018 and otherwise, enjoys painting, clay throwing, seeking out new Facebook Marketplace finds and attempting all manner of DIY jobs around the home. 

Camille's home style

Camille's interior design style is fairly eclectic but she tends to mix thrift, vintage finds with minimal, modern touches for a clean-cut space that has character. She likes to refresh her surroundings with the seasons, and is a big fan of decluttering on the regular to make room for new decor items – sans guilt. Rattan can be found all around her rented home in North London which she shares with her cat and two others, as can bursts of orange, Hockney posters and life drawing attempts. Alarmingly to some, she is not a fan of grey and her most loved possession is currently the Edwardian bed frame she did indeed, find on Facebook Market place.
