What is Amazon Prime Day 2021?

Amazon Prime Day is Amazon's largest sale event of the year. This sale sees Amazon slash the price of hundreds of buys on-site for just a few hours only.

Much like Black Friday, Amazon Prime Day 2021 is a 24 (or 48-hour) window, offering shoppers unbelievable savings. Here, you can score items such as smart or home appliances at a fraction of the cost.

When is Amazon Prime Day 2021?

First things first: Amazon Prime Day 2021 kicks off on June 21st, 2021, and runs until June 22nd, 2021, and it's important to dial in on the starting times.

If you are on the East Coast, the sale starts at 3 am, while for any of your West Coasters, it's midnight. If you are in the U.K, be sure to set your clocks for midnight BST, and for any of your Australians, your time to shine is midnight AEST.

Why is Amazon Prime Day 2021 important?

Seemingly, Amazon was quick to report its top-selling items from Amazon's Prime Day in 2021, and why wouldn't they? The retailer brought in a reported 1.4 billion dollars — and it's said to be the two biggest days (sales-wise) for third-party sellers.

Plus, this year, that's never been more important to shop. Most Amazon sellers are small and medium-sized businesses, who were directly affected by the COVID-19 pandemic. Meaning, there has never been a better time to show your support and do so while saving majorly.

What sold well during Amazon Prime Day 2020?

Are you wondering what items were the most popular during last year's Amazon Prime Day? Unsurprisingly, the Echo Dot 3 was the most popular Prime Day purchase globally— and with good reason.

Amazon's smart home assistant was on sale for only $18.99 — and we suspect that was to make way for the next-gen Echo Dot 4. Additional top-sellers were other electronics such as Fire TVs, Bose QuietComfort 35 (Series II) Wireless Headphones, and Fitbit Versa 2 Smartwatch was also strong standout performers.

Furthermore, other popular items included vacuum cleaners, coffee machines, the best candles — and large tubs of chocolate (which is very on-brand with quarantine life!).
