Spring cleaning – what’s the easiest way?

It’s that time of year again when focus shifts to clearing out those cupboards and cleaning those forgotten spaces. Whether you’re tackling the whole house or just cleaning the most-used rooms, here are my top tips and products to ensure your space is smelling fresh and looking great.

What to use in the kitchen

Cupboards and drawers

Refrigerator

Worktops and Sink

The machines

Floors

TOP TIP: Use a microfibre cloth whenever possible – these cloths make easy work of dirt and stains without the need for chemicals. Vileda Micro & Power cloth £2.47, Amazon or Spontex economic Microfibre cloth £1, Ocado

What to use in the living room

Dust everything

?Surfaces

Carpets

Curtains

TOP TIP: Steam cleaning everything from blasting dirt build up on windows, curtains, floors, venetian blinds etc is a good healthy (and fun) way to clean. But avoid most models under £100, as they tend to lack power. For heavy duty models we like the Karcher SC 2500C Steam Cleaner, £205, or Karcher SC 1020 Steam Cleaner, £119 both, Tooled-up.com.
