One piece of Ikea storage that has been gaining a bit of a cult following recently is the Skadis. Seriously, it has its own hashtag with more than 1,000 pics on Instagram! So to pay homage to this humble piece of metal with some holes jabbed into it, we've rounded up some really handy hacks to show how you can put it use in basically every room in your house...

1. Use a SKÅDIS pegboard as multi-purpose kitchen storage
So, the truly great thing about this simple piece of Ikea storage is how flexible it is. You buy the pegboard and can then add on loads of accessories to customise it to meet your needs. When it comes to kitchen storage, you can use the Skadis to keep all your most-used bits within easy reach – use a Skadis container for herbs and spices, a Skadis pot for your utensils and a Skadis letter holder for your well-loved cookbooks. Plus because it's all wall-mounted, it won't take up any extra room, perfect if you are working with a small kitchen.

2. Add some handy hallway storage on the back of a door
Another great one for small rooms, whether hallways or bedrooms. So often the backs of doors go ignored but they can add a load of invaluable storage space, so put them to use! Skadis pegboards come in loads of different sizes so you won't struggle to find one to fit your doors. We love this idea of using it for extra bedroom storage – again, the accessories make this really easy. Just get some hooks for shoes, containers for accessories, and a roll holder is handy for belts.
3. Get your bathroom organised with Ikea storage
Small bathroom? You guessed it, Skadis to the rescue. You can actually get a pegboard combination that is perfect for creating extra storage in a small space. You get a mix of shelves, containers and hooks and you can always add on more as your skincare collection expands (which you know it will).

Above, a Skadis has been used as a bit of a mood board too! Perfect if you are renting and need to keep holes in walls in a minimum, you can whack one of these up and use that space to stick up all your knick-knacks. Landlord and budget-friendly.
5. Keep your laundry room clutter free
It’s every homeowner's dream: a big airy utility room, with washing machine, tumble dryer, empty laundry baskets, clothes neatly folded in colour co-ordinated piles... But the reality is, we usually have a tiny space to work with. So make it work as hard as you can by wall-mounting a Skadis above your appliances. It will just keep all those small, annoying, but essential, bits organised and keep the space neat.
If you are in need of more laundry room storage ideas and hacks, we've got you covered.
