Cleverly designed storage is essential in any hall to avoid a build-up of clutter at the door. Spending time deciding exactly what you require to suit your family’s needs will pay dividends in ensuring the correct choice of furniture and fittings. Here are my top 10 storage ideas for the hallway.

Console table and shallow storage

Every hallway needs somewhere to put keys down safely and post as it arrives. A shallow console table or cabinet will provide the necessary surface while not taking up too much valuable floor space. A cabinet or table with a drawer is the most practical option.

Coat cupboards

Although this will take up space in a hallway, introducing a coat cupboard will make it feel far less cluttered. Choose a shallow style for narrow areas and add character to a large hall with a vintage armoire.
