1. The farmhouse kitchen
So at No.1 we have #farmhousekitchen with 615,000 IG posts using this hashtag and it takes 37% of the photos analysed. And the pull is regional heritage, natural wood floors and a farm style table. To recreate a farmhouse kitchen in your current space look out for these features mentioned, you can source trad style furniture from antique shops but add your own style by teaming it with one-off finds like these pendant lights. Don’t forget the star of the show - every farmhouse kitchen needs an Aga or range cooker right?
2. The modern kitchen
Coming in at No.2 is the #modernkitchen hashtag with a total of 436,132 IG posts using this hashtag. Form and structure where key components with concrete and steel mentioned as the favourite materials. Modern kitchens have strong visual lines and a less cluttered feel and this is where the appeal lies. Concrete and steel are a winning combo for a streamlined kitchen, but make sure you warm up the look with wooden elements, you want your kitchen to feel welcoming rather than clinical.

3. The country kitchen
With just under 250,000 IG posts using the #countrykitchen hashtag, the good old country kitchen rolls in at No.3. Now, you don’t need to get all oldie worldie to have a country kitchen, this beautiful image shows you how to create a stunning kitchen that retains the natural beauty of original features whilst having a contemporary touch. #rustickitchens sits at No.4 with 95,895 IG posts using the hashtag and it’s a lovely mix of old wooden beams, unique freestanding pieces and beautiful textures. This is the mix and match style kitchen which makes for a wonderful space full of character – source that dresser top and hang it on the wall, sand the floorboards and paint tongue and groove in a classic shade.
5. The cottage kitchen
Rolling in at No.5 is #cottagekitchens with just under 67K of IG posts using the hashtag, and quite frankly, who wouldn’t love a cottage kitchen? Cosy low ceilings, flagstone flooring, the odd beam or more and maybe even a stable door? Yes please!
