Did you catch last night's Watchdog Live Life Lab on blenders? It's our favourite bit of the show. If you've not caught it, it's where they ask three real families to test out popular products many of us use every day. And this week it was what they called 'personal blenders' but what you probably call 'blenders'.
They put three buys to the test: the NutriBullet 600 Series; the Nutri Ninja BL 480 Series; and the Philips Daily Collection Mini Blender HR2605.81, both at home and in the kitchen at the Good Housekeeping Institute, where they tackled a red smoothie with berries and oats, a green smoothie with ingredients including kale, and, finally, ice.
Each of these set of ingredients was chosen to present each blender with a challenge, and each was timed. After the tests, the Nutri Ninja was judged to be the fastest; and after using the blenders at home for a week, the families unanimously chose the Nutri Ninja blender as their favourite, too. And we like the brand, too – the Nutri Ninja 1500W Blender Duo is second on our list of the best blenders you can buy.
Now for the good news: the Nutri Ninja BL480UK Nutri 1000W Blender with Auto-iQ-BL480UK in silver is on sale at Amazon.
The Nutri Ninja was £99.99, but currently has a whopping £36.69 off, making it just £63.30, with free delivery in the UK. It can blend and make smoothies, has pre-set Auto-iQ blending programmes, can blitz whole fruit, veg, nuts, seeds and crush ice (as we saw on the show), and can blend delicious drinks straight into Nutri Ninja cup, which comes with a travel lid.
