We all want to keep our homes hygienic and looking good (as good as Mrs Hinch's anyway), but some things seem trickier to clean thoroughly than others, and the seating in our living rooms is one of them. Kitchens and bathrooms are filled with hard surfaces that are more straightforward to deal with, but upholstery is, well, a little trickier.

That’s why we sat up and took notice when Queen of Clean Mrs Hinch shared her tips on how to clean a couch. The Insta favourite revealed that she’d found a brilliant new way to get her sofa clean. We’re sharing her hack below, and if you’re after more cleaning ideas for loveliness at home take a look at our hub.

1. If you want to clean a couch like Mrs Hinch, you need to know she uses Febreze on her sofa. As she says in her Insta Stories video, she is already a fan. She’s told the Hinch Army in previous Insta posts that she sprays her bed with it, and uses it on dining chairs, carpets, toys and even gym bags.

2. But, Mrs Hinch reveals, what she’s using for the sofa now is a new version that’s antibacterial as well as odour killing. It’s a product that she says she reckons has been missing from what’s available up until now. While there are antibacterial products for places like worktops, light switches, door handles and so on, Mrs Hinch is loving the fact that she’s now equipped with an antibac cleaner that can be used on sofas, cushions, carpets, and curtains.

3. Cleaning is always important, but as Mrs Hinch says, ‘We all appreciate anti bac more than ever right now’. We couldn’t agree more. Cleaning every area of our homes has never been on our minds more than during the pandemic.

4. All you need to do for a sofa as thoroughly clean as Mrs Hinch’s? Follow her lead and spray the cushions. The bonus part? ‘It smells really good’, the cleanfluencer says, and what’s good enough for her is good enough for us.
