Thinking of snagging one of the best Amazon rugs? Whether you want to cover ugly carpeting in your rental or insulate your space — Amazon is a failsafe go-to.

As an interiors expert, I've spent hours searching for the best rugs on the platform. I considered the material, durability, cleaning care, and square footage when selecting these picks. I also read through customer reviews, only picking options that are highly-rated with over 4 stars.

To save you from having to scroll through page after page to find the best rug for you, I've done all the hard work, and hand-picked our favorite styles that shoppers love.

The best Amazon rugs money can buy

Amazon can be a really handy place to shop for a new rug. It has a wide variety of shapes, sizes, and colors available. Plus, you can find some pretty reasonable price points with quick shipping times.

The e-retail giant carries some of our favorite Amazon furniture brands (including Safavieh, nuLOOM, and Unique Loom), which are featured in this guide. But if the picks below don't float your boat, peruse Amazon's bestsellers list to view the most popular products, based on sales.

Washable Amazon rugs

Considering choosing a new rug yourself? In most cases, you should be able to use your vacuum cleaner to pick up debris, but it's worth checking the care instructions before you chuck it in your washer. If the rug has an intricate design, dyed in a particular way, or made from an organic material, you might need to wash it at a lower temperature or spot-clean it using a gentle upholstery cleaner.

Jute Amazon rugs

Has your Amazon rug been handwoven or made by a machine? While the latter might be cheaper and less artisan, machine-loomed rugs are generally more durable and cope well in high-traffic areas. These jute rugs are all great picks for a more artisanal look.

Black and white Amazon rugs

I may have mentioned the vast array of rug styles out there. Think Persian, jute, rattan, abstract, checkered... the list could go on. Therefore, I'd suggest first thinking about color and what other design elements you have in your house. Pairing it with the color scheme or trend you have going will work to unify the space. If you're a little unsure, black and white is always a safe bet.

Adding a rug will make just about any space look more complete and cohesive. While you're upgrading your bedroom or living room, think about adding a small entryway rug to make sure your home makes a great first impression.

It's worth checking if your rug has a non-slip backing before you add it to your basket. This will keep the carpet gripped to the floor and will stop it (and you from sliding) — especially if you have hardwood laminate or tiled flooring. And, if you have an outdoor space, investing in an indoor/outdoor area rug that has a weatherproof finish means you will get double the use out of it.
