Longer days, a slightly warmer breeze, and blossoms starting to grow on trees can only mean one thing: spring has finally sprung. If you’re anything like me, then the chances are that you're starting to feel the urge to purge your home of any dirt, grime, and clutter. Right now, I am fully immersed in the spring cleaning side of TikTok, and I'm definitely not mad about it. That's why I'm here to list all of the TikTok spring cleaning hacks you need to see before you fully jump into your routine.

I'll be honest: I really love the concept of a spring refresh; it’s just so wonderfully cathartic. Still, it takes a hell of a lot of time and effort. And, if your life is as hectic as mine, you probably don't have the time to spend hours deep-cleaning every inch of your home.

Thanks to #CleanTok (and these TikTok-approved spring cleaning hacks) this seasonal refresh doesn’t have to be a major deal anymore. I'll be adding to this list as I discover more hacks on my FYP...

What are the best TikTok-approved spring cleaning hacks?

1. Mopping your walls

Yes, you heard that right: mop your walls to clean them. It might sound kinda crazy but according to TikTok it actually works a total treat. The key? Having the right mop and the right cleaning detergent. To remove built-up grime from your walls, simply fill a mop bucket with hot soapy water, dip your mop in the water, and wring it out. Then, mop your walls from top to bottom. For the best results, the #CleanTok-approved easy-wring mop (opens in new tab) is a great option. This works on all walls, including in your bathroom, which may be tiled. I'd recommend opening your windows after to speed up drying, though.

2. Use dryer sheets to clean your bathroom

You know those pesky dusty patches you just can’t seem to reach? Well, according to TikTok, the answer is seriously simple. Use dryer sheets like these (opens in new tab) to whip away patches of dust and dirt. It might sound like a strange way to approach cleaning your bathroom, but it really works, and it leaves a wonderfully fresh smell behind.

3. Clean your mirrors with a Swiffer mop

Got a mirror that’s a little out of reach? Then, you’ll love this handy Swiffer mop (opens in new tab) hack. Instead of standing on your tiptoes trying to reach every corner of the glass, TikTokers have been using a Swiffer mop, microfiber cloth, and mirror cleaning spray to quickly (and more easily) wipe dust and dirt off the surface of their mirrors. Genius.

Hi! I’m Beth, and I’m a staff writer at Real Homes. With an eye for pretty things (think: quirky wall prints, scalloped edge furniture, and decadent-looking tableware) but a limited budget, I love nothing more than a bargain buy. I’m forever searching for items that will add style to my rather sterile, rented newbuild townhouse. I am forever searching for eye-catching and on-trend pieces of decor that will add personality without damaging the paintwork. When I’m not writing and researching trends and news pieces, you’ll usually find me camped out at my favorite coffee house with my Kindle, testing out new beauty products to blog about, restoring old furniture, or going on Instagrammable beach walks with my dog and fiancé.
