Of course we love the cottagecore trend! What's not to love about fairytale interiors, whimsical gardens and foraged foodie treats – all very lovely and all over Instagram. So when Sykes Cottages sent us a round up of their most cottagecore approved stays, we simply had to share. If not for some UK holiday inspiration, at least for some adorable style tips.

1. Stay in a thatched cottage in Devon

Oh come on, this is cottagecore all over. The thatched roof, the lead windows, the wooden beams and don't get us started on the interiors! Hearthstone East Cottage was built in the 16th century and has every traditional feature that you could think of. It's by the sea too, so you can get in a bit of a beach holiday plus you are only a few minutes walk into the lovely village of Brixham.

2. Escape to a cosy bolt hole in Wiltshire

Another lovely thatched cottage! This one is in Wiltshire, surrounded by gorgeous countryside that's perfect for bike rides and walks. The interiors are adorable and please check out the bathroom – a soak in a rolltop bath while you look out of the tiny window over the rolling countryside, how very cottagecore.

3. Get inspired by this Welsh fairytale property

Rambling roses and exposed brick walls, plus the most cottagey kitchen going. This cosy semi-detached cottage is a lovely secluded spot close to the village of Llawryglyn in Powys, Wales.  Those wanting to connect with nature – and embrace cottagecore – can tackle walking trails in the nearby valleys, or just enjoy the valley views from the property’s garden.

4. Book a night in the most Instagrammable Cottage in the Cotswolds

If one place in this country sums up cottagecore it's the Cotswolds. The tiny villages and the yellow bricks are all just so quaint, and this stay is bang in the middle of it. This wisteria-covered cottage near Bicester in Oxfordshire is ideal for a wholesome family break, there's plenty to do within walking distance and Oxford is just a short drive away if you fancy a day trip.

5. Go proper cottagecore and stay in a shepherd's hut in Cornwall

And we saved the best till last! It's doesn't get more cottagecore than a sheperd's hut. This one has been decorated so perfectly too, with a cosy bedroom and a log burning fire, this would make such a perfect autumn escape. The Tamar Trails centre is a 20-minute walk away for hiking, cycling and canoeing, and the National Trust's Cotehele House, Buckland Abbey and Morwellham Quay are also nearby so you are remote enough but still plenty around to keep you entertained.
