So apparently we aren't all as obsessed with neutral interiors as we thought! John Lewis bedding trends have revealed some recent sale increases in different prints and bolder colours, seeing buyers move away from traditional white bedding, and opting rather for brighter (and braver) choices.

While we, of course, love a neutral interior and probably always will, it's nice to see that other colours and prints are becoming more popular than ever. So far this year we do all seem more keen to add a bit more variation to our homes...

Okay, obviously, white was still the most bought bedding according to stats from John Lewis buuuut this was very quickly followed by pink! Yay! Pink has been a massive interior trend on Instagram, Pinterest and magazines, for a while now, competing with grey for the most popular colour, so it's nice to see we are all actually trying out this rosy hue in our homes.

If you are looking to introduce a bit of colour, pink is a really easy shade to use, the lightest, putty pinks are basically a neutral anyway. Head over to our pink rooms gallery to find out ways you can get this rosy hue into your home.

Another trend that John Lewis sales have shown is an increase in people buying patterned bedding – more specifically animal print bedding.  The Leopard Sateen Duvet Cover Set and the Tiger Duvet Cover Set were both best sellers in the bedding department last week! It's easy to see why, they are both very cute and bedding is one of the easiest ways to add pattern to your bedroom without going too crazy.

As well as these colour trends, John Lewis also found more of us are treating ourselves to luxury, premium bedding. We blame the vile weather and us just wanting to feel a bit less miserable, but sales of their premium sheets and silk pillow cases are both up 54 per cent.

Good for us treating ourselves to nicer bedding and be more out there with our choices! If you are feeling inspired, shop our fave John Lewis bedding below:
