1. Get your outdoor dining set up perfect
Since we all want to make the most of the heatwave, alfresco dining is a must, plus we are sure many of you will be hosting garden parties this weekend. It's time to ditch the plastic plates and upgrade – lovely plates, napkins, placemats, carafes, candles, the lot. All of H&M's prices are so reasonable too, the table mats (opens in new tab) are just £3.99, glazed stoneware plates (opens in new tab) are £9.99 and that gorgeous carafe (opens in new tab) is £12.99.
2. Make a feature of your food with lovely tableware
There is nothing more lovely than a table full of beautifully displayed food! H&M have some gorgeous trays (opens in new tab) to decorate your table with – plus it makes it easy to carry everything outside. Check out all their lovely serveware (opens in new tab) too.
3. Add comfort to you garden with cushions and rugs
Making your garden seem like an extension of your living room is a huge trend this summer. It's a really easy look to create too – just pick out some cute cushions (opens in new tab) (the prices at H&M start from just £2.99) to add to your garden furniture and invest in some rugs (opens in new tab) that you can use outside in the summer and bring indoors in the winter. When picking an outdoor rug lookout for hardwearing natural materials such as jute.
4. Invest in garden furniture you can bring indoors too
Yes H&M sell furniture (opens in new tab) and yes it's beautiful! Loads of it is suitable for outdoor use too so you can use it in your garden on sunny days and then bring it in during the winter to be a lovely feature in your home.
5. Create an outdoor kitchen area
Okay okay, it doesn't have to be anything as serious as this but you can quite easily create an 'outdoor kitchen' in your garden. If you have a hot plate or the best gas BBQ use that as the spot to build a mini prep space around, you could have baskets full of veggies, a condiments and marinade station and even a herb garden that you can pick from as you cook. H&M have a whole collection called Outdoor Cooking (opens in new tab) so check out all the lovely bits in there.
We have loads more outdoor kitchen ideas in our feature so be sure to check that out too.
