Maisons du Monde bucks the trend with an autumn/winter range that feels like spring... and we love it!

Maisons du Monde has thumbed their metaphorical noses at classic autumnal tones with a blue and pink collection that feels fresh, modern and fun

Maisons du Monde... how very dare you! Yup, the French homeware giant have given a Gallic shrug and launched an autumn winter 2019 range that's really taken us by surprise. It's every bit as elegant as you'd expect, but instead of those earthy tones every other retailer has been swamping us with (don't get us wrong, we love it), it's all cute pinks and smart blues – perfect for brightening up our homes as the days get shorter and darker.

Inspired by Art Deco and Scandi design, every curvaceous piece makes a statement in its own right... and we want it all. And because it's all about beautiful silhouettes, you don't need to buy much to make an impact. Perfect for small homes that need pepping up without feeling overcrowded, if you ask us.

This interior is just so fresh and modern and is decked out with Maison du Monde's gorgeous new Urban Mood range. The clean lines and sustainably sourced pine legs of the (very well-priced) Old Rose day bed, £346.50, give a nod to Scandinavian design while the pastel pink makes a unique statement. Love it!

And to make colour coordinating easy, we love how the scatter cushions are a mix and match of feature cushions, giving this room effortless character. Our favourite blue, pink and grey cotton cushion cover costs just £13.50.

2. Affordable dining room furniture with designer looks

Oooh, loving the Eve petrol blue chair, £54.50, and Perforated Metal two-door sideboard, £237.50, here. Look great against pink, too, right? But if you don't like pink, we think they'd look fab against a neutral, natural background with tons of woody textures, too.

Back to the pink and blue theme though – the range has been designed so that you can make creating a colour scheme a breeze. So, the metal wall art, £29, can help you achieve a feature wall without the commitment or effort of painting (take note, renters). Pair it with the v Matte Pink stoneware vase, £14.50, and the Pink Tinted glass vase, £16.50, and you're sorted.

Have a little peek at our 11 feature wall design ideas if that's piqued your interest.

3. Armchairs for dining rooms, bedrooms and kitchens

Mmmm... this chair is just dreamy in every way. Let's start with the high, curved backseat and plush cushioning for maximum comfort. Then, there's the fact that the pine legs are giving us all those hygge vibes, and that they're made from sustainable wood. Add that to the gorgeous pink velvet and you've got yourself a pretty perfect chair.

Keep it in your living room as a feature chair or buy a few and jazz up your dining room table. Or pop one in your bedroom by a dressing table. Or perhaps one in the hallway. It also comes in five more colours... but we're just sticking to pink and blue, today. Pink Velvet Armchair, £200.50.

4. Stylish storage for hallways, kids rooms and beyond

Looking for minimalist shelving units that will never look out of place, anywhere in the house? You've got it in the Sand shelving unit with multiple compartments, £260. The light wood and longline frame is so versatile and can be placed vertically or horizontally.

And while we're on the subject of storage, our favourite part of this room is the three-hook Paulownia coat rack ladder, £49.50, because a) it's just so cute and b) it would look just as good in a bathroom as a hallway.

Adding a pop of colour to a room? The pink perpetual calendar, £19, and the four drawer printed storage box, £25.50, complete the look.

5. A velvet sofa that'll never date and lighting we love

This midnight blue sofa, £865, is so gorgeously inviting... we need one! Sorry, want one. The pink oak stool, £49.50, and Clara pink cushion, £15.50, offer a complementary lift. And lighting? The pink tinted glass pendant, £44, is the perfect finishing touch, offering the room a warm, rosy hue.
