After announcing collapse of the chain on Tuesday, bargain hunters have crashed the Debenhams website in a bid to grab items in the clearance sale. While set to end their Cyber Monday sale at midnight on Monday, news quickly followed that the chain would be going in to administration. Sale items remained and the huge number of visitors to the site means those wanting a deal will be put in a virtual queue.
The queue is about 10 minutes as it stands, though you will need to be patient with the site when you get on as traffic could slow its functionality. All 124 Debenhams stores in the UK are set to close, meaning that despite shops reopening physically today, many people are keeping their sales snooping online. We are sad to see the end of this British department store which, for us, was always a convenient one stop shop for fashion, beauty, perfume and homewares. Now these items are all on sale, with Christmas shoppers finding bargains for family and friends, as well as Christmas decorations and tableware.
If you plan to shop the sale, see the links below to take you directly to the section of the site you want to limit time spent searching.
