As the coronavirus crisis deepens, more and more organisations and cultural institutions are shutting their doors, including cinema chains and theatres, and, as of today, the Tate gallery in London. Although these closure may not sound important in light of the seriousness of the problem, many people who like galleries and museums will be dismayed to hear that our cultural life has ground to a halt.

Or so we thought. Google now offers virtual tours of some of the world's finest museums in beautiful 360º views and even the ability to walk around some of them in street view mode.
There are tonnes of institutions that can be visited in this way, among them the Guggenheim Museum in New York City, the Uffizi gallery in Florence, and the British Museum in London. Given how busy all of these top museums usually are, being able to experience them without the crowds will be a bonus for many of us.
And if you're not all that into museums but really need to escape, at least mentally, you can 'walk around' some of the world's most beautiful places, for example the Milan Cathedral of the Ipanema Beach in Rio de Janeiro. Just go to Google Arts and Culture to explore.
