3. Create a calming kitchen with muted grey paint colours
This muted grey painted kitchen has many well balanced elements, and that is exactly what you want to create a calm space. Nothing ‘fights’ with each other, everything is equal. The splashback paint colour is a similar tone to the grey units. The floor has a characterful white-washed feel, whilst the wooden stools add texture. Use simple accessories in white and wood to finish off the look.

4. Mix neutrals from a relaxing bedroom
Again, if you want to create a light and airy scheme which lends itself to a calming vibe, then white is a great option. Bedrooms are quite possibly the most important space for us to feel relaxed in, sleep is so important to our mental health. Textures are key in here and layer them as much as possible – go for high thread count cotton or slubby linen bedding, a beautiful textured throw and not forgetting a tactile rug (opens in new tab) for you to step out onto every morning. Warm wood accessories will add warmth to the scheme.
