If you’re a fellow fan of the store experience, you’ll be delighted to know that you can replicate it from home now, with the launch of virtual personal shopping appointments from John Lewis. Even better, you don’t have to pay a penny.
During an appointment your personal shopper will show you round the areas of the shop you want to visit, point out the products they think will suit you, and answer any questions. They can make suggestions and recommendations on buys such as gifts, bedding, cookware and toys, and if you’re after something that needs particular know-how – say a tablet or phone – their expert colleagues will provide input.
The appointment takes place via Zoom and is 30 minutes long. You’ll have to answer some questions beforehand so your shopper can get set for your virtual visit. Decide to buy something (or, ahem, a lot) during the appointment? Buys can be delivered, or you can pick them up from your local store at the collection point.
