Worried about finding toilet paper during the Covid-19 pandemic? It should soon be easier to get your hands on soon. And until then, we will be keeping you updated on the best places to source toilet roll and other household essentials.

To meet an increased demand for household essentials like food, personal care products, cleaning supplies and, yes, toilet paper, while much of the world is in quarantine, Amazon today announced a drastic change to its business model in the U.S. and E.U.

Beginning today through April 5, the ecommerce giant is no longer accepting shipments of non-essential items from its Fulfilled by Amazon (FBA) suppliers into its warehouses. FBA suppliers are third-party sellers and retailers that send their products to Amazon's warehouses where they're processed and shipped directly to customers.

So, what does that mean for you?

The good news is, that by dedicating additional resources to essential products, more of the most in-demand supplies will be readily available to people who need them, when they need them. Amazon is calling essential items anything that falls into the below categories:

The not-so-good news is that items that don't fall into these categories could become harder to find on Amazon.

To be clear, Amazon will still ship your purchases of non-essential items as long as they are in stock. They just won't be as actively restocking them once they sell out.

Plus, not all products on Amazon are FBA products, and Amazon's third-party suppliers are also free to ship their products directly to customers instead. So you may find that the item you want is in stock, but that it might take a little longer to ship, or that the package you get may not be in the typical Amazon-branded box.

All-in-all sacrificing some short-term convenience for greater access to the things we need to live (like toilet paper!) and keep our families and pets healthy sounds like a good move to us.
