What is the best Dyson cordless vacuum cleaner?
Our favourite is the Dyson V11 Absolute cordless vacuum cleaner. Its powerful suction is unrivalled in the range and it's great at transitioning from hard floor to carpet. Plus there's a function that tells you how much battery is remaining so you won't run out halfway through a room. See more about it and all our best Dyson cordless vacuum cleaner picks below.
The Dyson V11 Absolute cordless vacuum cleaner is our top pick of Dyson cordless vacuums because it's got twice the suction of the others.
The LCD screen of this nifty vac lets you know how much running time you have left, and in Eco mode it offers a total of 60 minutes. This setting still provides plenty of cleaning power, but the machine does also offer auto and boost modes. There’s a full suite of attachments for every job around the house, and it’s really effective on carpet where the brush bar’s bristles go deep into the pile to get out all the dirt and debris.
This a powerful vacuum cleaner that will get your whole home clean and, with a long running time, shouldn’t leave you frustrated that you can’t finish the job without recharging. It is a pricey choice, but if you want to go cordless and are prepared to invest to get excellent cleaning results, we reckon it’s worth it.
On the Dyson site, happy buyers have given an overall rating of 4.8 out of five for this vac. Delighted users like the running time indicator as well as the notifications it gives when it needs to be emptied, and the filters need cleaning. Also applauded were its manoeuvrability, and the cleaning results.
The verdict of those who bought their vac via John Lewis? A delighted 4.8 out of five overall. Users noted that they can vacuum a five-bedroom house without the battery running out, found the bin easy to empty, and thought it gave great results on hard flooring and carpet, as well as stairs.
The Dyson V8 Animal cordless vacuum cleaner is our top rated Dyson cordless vac for pet owners. Find out why.
The mini motorhead tool that comes with this machine is highly effective at removing pet hair – as well as dirt that’s worked its way into upholstery. This vac also comes with all the other tools you’d want to tackle all your cleaning jobs. Changing from upright vac to handheld is easy with this model, too – just click and go.
Pet owners, we commend this cleaner to you. It does a cracking job on animal hair, removing it even when it’s got knitted in. Both carpet and hard flooring come up beautifully when you’ve given them some attention with this vac.
Reviewers on the Dyson site awarded this machine 4.7 out of five stars, and praised its thorough cleaning. They also found it light to carry and easy to adapt to every job.
The verdict from Amazon buyers was 4.6 out of five stars with the machine’s light weight, suction power and simple assembly rated highly. Users praised its pet hair pick up and the fact that it made carpets look brand new.
The Dyson Cyclone V10 Animal cordless vacuum cleaner is not as good as the V11 but it is £100 cheaper. Will you notice the difference? You might a little on carpet, but you'll still love it, we think.
An hour of cleaning from one charge is a winning feature in our book. That’s in what’s know as suction mode 1, but that still gives you bags of pick-up power. Two other power modes mean this machine should tackle every clean-up task you throw at it, and the mini motorised tool will sort out the hair shed by four-legged members of the household.
As a handheld or stick, this machine really will get your home clean, and a long running time means you won’t be cursing it for running out of juice too quickly. It comes with all the tools you’ll need for every cleaning job, too.
The opinions of those who bought via the Dyson site? A delighted 4.7 out of five with 4,323 people giving their verdict. Buyers praised reduced noise, highly efficient fur removal, and easy dust disposal.
At Amazon, buyers gave the vac an even more enthusiastic 4.8 out of five stars. Suction power, ease of use, and its stair cleaning scored most highly. It was acclaimed for its long-lasting battery, its handiness for cleaning the inside of a car, and up-to-the-edges cleaning.
The Dyson Cyclone V10 Total Clean cordless vacuum cleaner is a good all-rounder, tackling both hard floors and carpets with ease. It'll make short work of pet hair, too.
Why have we included two versions of Dyson’s V10 in our list? Well, because they have some different features, to suit different households. While the Animal model, above, delivers on removing pet hair, the Total Clean offers two floorheads. One allows you to get the dirt and hair that’s worked its way down into the carpet out. The other is made to suit hard floors. Also handy is the wall-mounted dock for charging and to store tools – a feature this vac shares with its Animal cousin.
There’s no getting away from the fact that this is a top-end buy. But if you want really effective cleaning and have a fair amount of both carpet and hard flooring to deal with, we don’t think you’ll be disappointed with the investment. And, pet owners, you’ll be able to clean up your friends’ hair contributions without hassle to boot.
An average score of 4.7 out of five from buyers of this vacuum on the Dyson site prove it’s a big hit. Users liked the light weight, the long battery life, and found the attachments easy to swap in and out.
On Amazon, the verdict on this model is an overall four out of five stars. Buyers like the different floorheads, and being able to use the machine to clean the car as well as the house. They also applauded its pet hair pick up.
The Dyson V7 Animal cordless vacuum cleaner is a useful two-in-one: upright one minute, handheld the next.
The mini motorhead tool makes picking up fur from upholstery easy, so this vac lives up to its Animal name. It’s a two-in-one design, swiftly transforming into a handheld for jobs like cleaning the car, or sorting out a spill. Although it doesn’t have the up to one hour of suction before recharge of some of the other Dyson models we’ve featured, you can still get a lot of the cleaning done in the 30 minutes it does offer.
We think this is another great Dyson option for households with pets. Its power make carpets, hard flooring and upholstery pristine, and it comes with attachments for every job to boot. It’s a less costly option than others here, but still delivers all round.
Buyers via the Dyson site gave this cleaner an average score of 4.4 out of five. It lived up to expectations on pet hair, and users thought it cleaned deeply.
On Amazon, the overall conclusion was that this model deserved 4.3 out of five stars. It scored most highly for its light weight, abilities on stairs and ease of use. The trigger switch – so the vac’s only running when required and not in between jobs – was also appreciated.
