B&Q is coming to a high street near you

The brains behind B&Q are set to launch Good Home – a new concept in DIY stores – in high streets around Britain

While the industrial estates that are home to DIY superstores still have their place, a significant shift in the way we shop – and a reduction in the number of young people learning to drive – has motivated B&Q's parent company Kingfisher to launch Good Home, a new, affordable home improvement brand for the high street.

Having spent years observing the lives of their customers across Europe and engaging in varied conversations about home improvement, the company intends for Good Home to bridge the gap between the digital and physical shopping experience.

In real terms, this means being there for a customer's first frantic 'how to stop a leaking pipe' internet search by providing the advice needed and the products to fix the problem – all within a stone's throw of their home. Genius.

But Good Home isn't just there for when things go wrong. A trip in store could be the first step towards achieving your dream kitchen, bedroom, bathroom, garden or more, thanks to the presence of expert customer sales assistants on hand to share specialist home improvement advice.

Commenting on the launch, CEO of Kingfisher, Veronique Laury says, 'People's homes are important to them. They want to... feel proud of them, but all too often home improvement can be complicated and stressful, a nightmare. That's why we want to shake things up and do home improvement in an entirely new way.'

While only one Good Home store has opened in Wallington, south London, more express stores are set to be opened throughout 2019. On top of this, products launched for Good Home are increasingly becoming available throughout B&Q stores across the UK.
