Wondering where to buy Halloween decorations this year? Yup, Halloween is just around the corner and before you know it, spooky szn will stare you right in the face. While I have some dusty decorations I resurrect each year, somehow new additions creep into my online (and physical) baskets.

My secret to success is an eclectic mix of spine-chilling and Instagram-worthy odds and ends, but if you are wondering *where* to source decor — there's no sorcery or special spell required!

Decorating an apartment for Hallow's Eve shouldn't be scary. After all, there are so many retailers at your disposal. You've just got to dig carefully, and I promise there are some majestic finds amongst the more... um cheugy choices.

Whether you go down the scary or chic (or both) route — I can help. These are my favorite shops to buy Halloween decor online, along with a few select picks, so that you can be prepared this year. Get yours now as the majority of us normally start buying at the end of August, before all of the best ones sell out. PSL in hand, of course.

Afterward, why not pay a visit to our DIY Halloween decoration ideas guide for some budget-friendly inspo?

When should you decorate your house for Halloween?

There's no exact date; it's more of a personal preference and whenever you can find time. As a rule, we would say to definitely leave it until after Labor Day, but aim to get it done before the first weekend of October.

Search for Halloween decorations traditionally spikes at the end of August, so this is when people start buying. Then, there's always a big jump in the first week of October as this is when most people start putting theirs up, or thinking about it anyway.

How can I decorate this Halloween for cheap?

You can absolutely decorate for Halloween on a budget. Whether you only want to buy one or two things from this list or you want to DIY everything, we've got a bunch of easy Halloween crafts that you can do to decorate your apartment this year.

Otherwise, there's a lot you can do with a few pumpkins. You can paint one, carve one, use one as a succulent pot, and much more.
