We’re always on the look out for a great home scent—especially as the seasons turn, the days get shorter, and the hygge vibes come out in full force. Whether it’s a new scented candle or the best reed diffuser, if it smells warm and cozy, we’re here for it.
That’s why we were particularly intrigued by Instagram’s newest home scent darling; but it doesn’t come in the form of a candle or a diffuser, rather, a $3.99 can of grocery store Febreze air freshener.
The Febreze Air Odor-Eliminating Air Freshener, Wood has begun popping up on Instagram feeds from New York to Louisiana thanks to its likeness to Tom Ford's premium 'Tobacco Vanille' fragrance—a luxury perfume that runs for over $200 at Sephora. The supermarket air freshener and high end fragrance have nearly the exact same musk scent, according to Louisiana-based Instagram influencer Sydney Grace, who posted about the scent in her story earlier this week.
“I've used Febreze before, but it's always just been one of those things your parents have in their guest bathroom,” she said on her story. “'If they sold the Wood scent in a perfume I would totally buy it. No shame.”
Contributing Vogue beauty editor and Instagram influencer Jenna Rennert agrees, adding that the scent is “unbelievable” and reminiscent of a “tobacco vanilla room scent.” After sharing the scent with her followers on her story last week, dozens of prominent editors and beauty enthusiasts jumped at the chance to dose their homes in a high-end musky scent for a supermarket price.
We're currently adding it to our carts to see for ourselves. Curious? Check it out, below.
