Ellen DeGeneres has a brand new design show hitting HBO Max, and we can't wait to watch it. The TV personality is no stranger to design, with lifestyle brand ED by Ellen that sells everything from rugs to footwear.

Not to mention her experience renovating her own stunning homes shared with wife Portia de Rossi. Here's what we know so far about Ellen DeGeneres' Next Great Designer.

'Anyone who knows me knows that I love furniture,' Ellen beams in the trailer. 'That's why I've created my very own furniture design competition. 

'This show is going to blow people's minds.'

The competition will see seven talented designers compete for $100,000. Contestants will battle it out in studios across the US. They'll be under time immense pressure, producing some seriously out-there designs. 

In New York City we have Christina Z. Antonio, Arielle Assouline-Lichten, and Erica Sellers competing for the $100,000 prize. There's also Alejandro Artigas in Los Angeles, Mark Grattan in New Hope, PA, Paul Jeffrey in Phoenix, AZ, and Urvi Sharma in Providence, RI.

There are lampshades, tables, fireplaces, all reimagined by the designers in a bid to impress the judges.

Who are the judges on Ellen Degeneres' Next Great Designer?

Helping Ellen narrow down the competition will be fellow judges Brigette Romanek, an interior designer, and Fernando Mastrangelo, a contemporary artist and designer.

Actor Scott Foley will also be making an appearance as co-host and judge.

When is Ellen Degeneres' Next Great Designer on HBO Max?

The show kicks off on Thursday, April 22 on HBO Max, when two episodes will be dropped. It's made up of a total of six episodes - the following four will be shown weekly.

In the trailer, one hopeful says, 'Every minute I'm not working on that piece, could potentially spell failure.' 

Another reveals how much it really means to them: 'Winning would be life-changing. I'm pretty broke in my business right now.'
