We can officially reveal that the fourth Yankee Candle scent of the year is 'Inspire' – and it smells like a freshly cleaned bathroom. For 2022, Yankee has created an uplifting and zingy scent that blends citrus with natural green notes.
Yankee makes some of the best candles around, and we're wondering if this revitalizing new fragrance will be sparking a new trend for fresh aromas.
Yankee Candle scent of the year 2022
The Yankee Candle scent of the year is an intriguing citrus fragrance with nature-inspired green notes. The lime gives it a vigorous and energizing feel as well as a slight tartness.
The mid note of bamboo is lush and green, with a woody element, while verbena gives it a clean, lemony aroma with herbal nuances. There's also some grounding cedarwood in the mix, for a soft woody element that may remind you of the smell of sharpening pencils at school.
We think 'Inspire' definitely awakens the senses, and gives a spotless, freshly cleaned feeling to our home. It would probably be the best home fragrance for the bathroom, but it would also work well in the living room or kitchen, too.
It will be available to order on the Yankee Candle website and at Amazon. The new scent takes inspiration from Ikigai, the Japanese philosophy of living a long and fruitful life.
It's designed to inspire us to celebrate the everyday moments that bring us joy, from a quiet moment with a herbal tea and a journal, to a slow walk in the park. 'Experience 2022 with a deeper sense of gratitude and happiness with "Inspire,"' says Yankee.
After the last couple of years of lockdown restrictions, it's like Yankee read our minds. Yankee managed to capture the mood last year, too.
In 2021, the Yankee Candle scent of the year was called 'Discovery' which brought the vacation vibes to our homes during the pandemic. It was an exotic blend of starfruit, mango, and passionfruit warmed by a touch of ginger and some vanilla.
Inspire is much more pared-back and classic. Will you be adding the Yankee Candle scent of the year 2022 to your collection?
