This is how it's done

Nicki Bamford-Bowes was one of our absolute favourites from Interior Design Masters season 1, providing us with endless inspiration for our own homes with her clever designs.

While we wait for the new series of the show to kick off tonight, Tuesday February 2, we step inside the designer's home - and it is *chef's kiss*.

The founder of interior design company & Then They Went Wild's love of bold colour and her discerning eye are showcased in her home.

Nicki seems to have a magic formula for creating an incredible space that makes a statement, while also being highly functional. There's always a sense of fun in her designs, as well as a careful composition of textures and shapes.

We don't know what the secret ingredient is, but Nicki seems to get it spot on every time.

The bathroom is filled with natural light and features a white free-standing bath, white square-shaped tiles on the walls and stylish hexagonal pink tiles underfoot.

The small natural wooden stools add softness, as well as making a handy space for a book or glass of wine while having a bath. We're loving the marble sink and gold fixtures, and the fireplace adds a sense of luxury.

The round edges of the bath, mirror and lighting work well, countering the many harsh angles often seen in the bathroom.

Plenty of greenery finishes off the look, making a calming space conducive to an extended skincare routine.

Opposite the bathroom is a dark bedroom with a tongue and groove wall set on an angle. Sumptuous cushions and a throw follow the pink and navy colour scheme of the room.

Nicki has a very mature living space in a duck egg blue with panelling, a rattan sofa, a dark marble coffee table and storage with gold detailing.

The fireplace, shelving, storage and skirting boards have all been painted in the same pale blue, which we think makes the space look bigger. The dusky pink armchair looks like the perfect spot for some reading, and we're big fans of the Made.com lamp.

The large marble side table is a bold choice and works brilliantly. Note the circular gold rimmed mirror, tying in with the gold detail of the storage cupboards.

Has Nicki taken inspiration from Mad About The House author Kate Watson-Smythe's 'something new, something old, something black and something gold' maxim here?

Leading through from the blue living space is this gorgeous peach room with a retro black leather armchair, a geometric patterned rug and black ceiling.

Warm orange and terracotta hues in velvet. Obsessed.

Elsewhere in Nicki's home is this gorgeous, moody plum tone carried over the wall and under-sink cabinet.

Nicki has used a fun neon sign that reads '& Then They Went Wild', the name of her interior design company, founded in 2017.
