We are definitely all becoming more aware about the effects that our buying habits have on the planet, we all make a conscious effort to use our reusable cups, wrap our sarnies in beeswax wraps and take our shopping bags with us whenever we leave the house. But of course, there is always more you can be doing to live a more eco-friendly existence, and something as simple as switching to bamboo products can make a ton of difference.

We bet you have heard of bamboo dinnerware, bamboo bedding, maybe you have even looked into getting a bamboo pillow, but did you know you can also get bamboo towels? These bamboo towels come from the sustainable, eco-friendly brand Panda, who are the leading UK brand for bamboo products. They are known for their bamboo pillows, bamboo duvets, bamboo toppers and bamboo bedding, basically anything you can stick on a bed they make. But With their goal to make our homes greener, Panda has now introduced their bath collection. This includes their bamboo bath sheets, bath towels, hand towels and bamboo bath rugs.

So why switch your current towels to eco-friendly bamboo ones? Well we can think of a few reasons…

1. Luxuriously soft

Yes, we know when you think of bamboo you don’t immediately think of super soft, squishy fabric but Panda products are made using the finest bamboo fibres, which results in products that are not only extremely soft, but lightweight and silky too. Their towels are Zero Twist which are the plushest type of towel available because they are made of open loops with no twist which results in a softer, thicker towel. Dreamy.

2. Outstanding blend of bamboo and long staple cotton

The Panda bamboo towels are made from organic bamboo & long staple cotton, which is the highest quality species of cotton. It has longer fibres, so can be woven into super soft, lighter fabrics, while still maintaining its highly breathable, durable and absorbent properties – perfect for towels!

3. Ultra absorbent

Bamboo is ultra absorbent which makes it an excellent choice for towels. It can hold up to three times its weight in water! It’s also naturally odour resistant, which will prevent that musty smell that towels can get if they take too long to dry.

4. Hypoallergenic and antibacterial

Bamboo products are ideal for those of you who might suffer from allergies or have sensitive skin. As we mentioned, bamboo is actually naturally antibacterial, so it’s suitable for those who have eczema, sensitive skin or hay fever.  All Panda products, including the towels are also Oeko-Tex Standard 100 approved so they have been tested to make sure they are perfectly safe for babies and super sensitive skin.

5. Sustainable

The biggest reason to make the switch in our opinion.  Bamboo is one of the world’s fastest growing and dense resources. It’s self propagating, which basically means unlike more traditional woods, it will replenish itself. Plus it uses up to 70% less water to produce compared to cotton, which is what your current towels are probably made from. All Panda products have been awarded a Made-In-Green certificate by OEKO-TEX and all Panda packaging is biodegradable and 100% recyclable too. All of the bamboo that Panda produces is FSC certified, ensuring that its responsibly harvested from the sustainable forests with no conservation values or genetically modified trees.

Panda’s goals are all about making the home greener, so if this is one of your goals too, switching to their bamboo products is a really easy way to make sure you are being kinder to the planet.
