The new range of John Lewis duvets is a life saver for those of us seeking the light-as-a-feather cosiness of a duck down duvet but with full approval from The Vegan Society. Yes, John Lewis & Partners has launched its first vegan, biodegradable duvet.
The Botanic Duvet (opens in new tab) is part of the Natural Collection and is made from Tencel Lyocell, a natural material derived from sustainable wood sources. Pulp from trees harvested from certified and controlled sources, to be precise. Naturally temperature regulating and breathable, sweaty nights will be a thing of the past, and the material is beautifully soft on skin.
'Our customers are telling us that they want to be more sustainable and live healthier, more responsible lives,' says Unna Patel, Partner & Filled Bedding Buyer at John Lewis & Partners. 'As plant based and vegan lifestyles are becoming increasingly popular, we think this product will delight our customers, providing them with a beautiful product that will give them a great night’s sleep.'
Handcrafted in Devon by Plympton-based Devon Duvets, the Botanic Duvet range (opens in new tab) comes in 2.5 and 4.5 tog versions, in single, double, king and super king sizes. Prices start from £125 for a single 2.5 tog duvet.
