Claire is passionate about interiors and DIY and has over 18 years of home improvement experience. As a teenager, she dreamt of renovating a place of her own and much of her early twenties were spent learning DIY and interior decorating, practicing her newfound skills on the tiny, basement flat where she lived at the time, tiling the bathroom, hanging wallpaper, replacing the skirting boards and painting (over and over!). She made mistakes along the way but always learned from them and found each new skill she mastered, only encouraged her to be that bit braver with the next project she tried.

After gaining a degree in Animal Science from Leeds University, Claire worked in London as a Project Manager for many years, leading exciting projects such as ATM provision for the London 2012 Olympics, but it was the home improvement projects that she worked on in her spare time that she enjoyed most. In 2019, Claire set up her Instagram account as a place to share details of her latest property renovation journey and in doing so discovered a passion for interior styling and content creation. Claire's socials went from strength to strength and her creative DIY projects were featured in several home interior magazines, as well as being picked up by the national press. During the pandemic, Claire decided to turn her passions into a career, splitting her time between creating content and training to be an interior stylist and writer. Fast forward to 2022, and Claire has a successful home improvement blog and regularly writes for realhomes.com where she shares all the secrets behind her interiors projects, as well as step-by-step DIY tutorials, top tips, tricks and hacks.

Claire loves getting stuck into home improvement and DIY projects and always tries to keep it budget-friendly to show that you don't need to spend a lot to create a stylish home that you love. Some recent examples include her DIY stair runner which went viral, her tester pot, bedroom wall mural and IKEA hacks which never fail to inspire people.
