Jenny Wood

Freelance Writer

Jenny has been a features and lifestyle journalist for over 20 years and writes about homes and gardens for national newspapers and magazines such as the Daily Mail, Good Homes and Easy Gardens as well as for Realhomes.com.

After studying communications and journalism at university, Jenny started her career working for a wedding magazine before stints on Real Health & Beauty, Company, The Sun’s Saturday magazine, and as the launch features editor of LOOK. Over the years, she’s won several awards writing about everything from gardening to sexual health, and has scoured the country for eligible bachelors (all in the name of work, of course), stood next to a surgeon performing a breast implant operation in South Africa, and been invited to join the Prime Minister on a trip to Iraq (she turned him down as it clashed with her best friend’s wedding). Since going freelance in 2012, she’s specialised in homes, gardens, lifestyle and shopping features, and also works as an interior designer with the team at Decorbuddi.com, tackling everything from bedroom revamps to kitchen extensions.

Jenny’s interior style is bright and cheerful with a touch of mid-century modern and more houseplants than is probably strictly necessary. Constantly renovating and redecorating the home she shares in London with her husband and two children, she loves a bargain; believes you can never have too much colour, cushions, cacti or storage; and has a particular soft spot for terrazzo.
