Keep scrolling for the step by steps and head to our kid's bedroom ideas feature for loads more inspiration.

You will need:

Step one: Tape your shape

The base coat was Valspar's White Moss, a bright white with a hint of green

You might want to use a pencil first and plan out your mountain design, then you simply make the lines with tape. Take care to not overlap into the space you will be painting. For double peaks, you will need to cut the end of the tape at an angle for a neat line.

Step two: paint between the lines

We used Laurel Wreath, Sea Turtle from Valspar here. The third colour is a mix of White Moss and Laurel Wreath for a calming lighter green

Once you are happy with your design you can start painting. For the larger areas you can use a roller and then switch to a brush when you get closer to the masking tape just to make sure you stay in the lines. You might want to do another coat if needed.

Step three: remove the tape

Once the paint is touch dry you can gently remove your tape. We did it after just 30 minutes as it is easier to get a crisp edge when the paint is not fully set. Now, it's up to you if want to leave the masking tape lines in so you have a nice clean gap between your mountains or paint between the gaps. We really like the look of the lines, we think it just looks a bit more clear and dramatic.

Then it's just all about styling up your room! How fab does this teepee bed look with the mountain?! A kid's dream bedroom right here...
