Tassimo machines, courtesty of the Bosch Tassimo line, have a pretty much unbeatable lineup of coffee options. When you buy the best Tassimo coffee machine you can also make hot chocolates with Cadbury's pods, and even have an at-home Costa caramel latte.
Not only are the options great, but Tassimo machines are also some of the most affordable pod coffee machines on the market. They come in a range of shapes and sizes though, not to mention a few different price points, but which Tassimo machine is best?
We've been lucky to try most of these machines hands-on, so our expert guide is here to bring you all of our thoughts on which is the right Tassimo machine for every customer. For more options, you can also take a look at our guide to the best coffee machine.
Best Tassimo machines
The Bosch Tassimo My Way TAS6002GB coffee machine is perfect for fussy drinkers. Choose your drink and customise it.
Want to be able to customise the drinks you make with Tassimo capsules? This model lets you set intensity, size and strength rather than just brewing according to the barcode on the capsule. You can store four different variations, so it can please the family – or one person who likes variety in their drinks. Like other Tassimo machines, it has an energy-saving standby mode to which it switches automatically after brewing.
Being able to personalise drinks is a big plus point for us. After all, not everyone likes their coffee the same or an identical drink at different times of the day. Buy this machine and you won’t miss out on our other favourite Tassimo features either: it’s quick and cleaning and descaling is simple.
We enjoyed making our drinks as hot as we liked, as large as we liked, and as strong as we fancied. The machine also saves custom preferences, which is perfect for a house of coffee lovers. Our small appliances editor Millie gives it a 5-star review.
The Bosch Tassimo Happy TAS1002GB coffee machine is a fast worker. Find out how else it excels.
There’s no hanging about for your drink with this machine. The removable water tank can be filled straight from the tap and, once the Tassimo T-Disc is inserted, there’s one button to press to make your drink. The cup stand is adjustable so you can fit your favourite vessel for each brew underneath the spout. There’s also a descaling and cleaning programme to keep it in tip-top shape.
Our editor tried this one herself. She said 'Heat up is pretty instant on this machine, so I can quickly make a brew for my travel mug before I leave the house in the morning. I like the prompt to descale it when required, too.’
Amazon shoppers said it ‘makes great coffee’, and is ‘easy to use and clean’ as well as celebrating it as the ‘best coffee/tea machine I have ever owned’.
At Currys, it was a hit because it’s ‘very easy to use and the pods are available in most supermarkets’. Also in its favour were the fact that it’s ‘sleek looking and compact’ and that it’s ‘absolutely foolproof’.
The Bosch Tassimo VIVY 2 TAS1402GB coffee machine is perfect for homes with little free worktop space. It makes good coffee, too.
If your kitchen is tiny but you don’t welcome the cost of high-street coffee when you want a brew, this neat little machine is for you. Like its bigger cousins, it has a removable water tank you take over to the tap, works at the touch of a button, and won’t keep you waiting while it heats up.
Our favourite design when you don’t have a lot of space but do want to have a machine that makes a good coffee and a variety of other drinks on hand. You won’t begrudge the worktop area it does take up, either, as it looks good.
Those who bought via Argos gave this machine an overall 4.8 out of five. Happy shoppers’ comments included ‘the coffees I’ve had with this machine have been amazing’, ‘really easy to use and great size’ and ‘the lattes are just the same as the shop-bought ones’.
Amazon shoppers agree about the lattes – ‘really shop quality’. Also highlighted are its ‘good value for money’, and the fact that it’s ‘compact and stylish’.
The Bosch Tassimo Suny TAS3202GB coffee machine is sooo easy to operate. Perfect for technophobes and impatient drinkers...
Tassimo machines are quick, but this is the one to go for if you want to make brewing up even faster. With this machine, you don’t even have to push the button to kick things off. Just press the front of the machine with the mug as you put it down. Other top attributes? The water tank on the back can be removed and taken to the tap, and there’s an auto-descaling programme.
It’s not as if Tassimo machines have you hanging about in any case, but we do like the Smart Start feature of this design. It’ll make a tasty coffee, too, as well as other options if you’re not a coffee fan. There’s a white version of this design we think looks very stylish.
Those who left reviews via Argos said it makes ‘delicious hot chocolate, cappuccino or latte’, and ‘the most important thing for me is that the drinks come out hot and this one does it for me’, plus ‘would recommend to anyone looking for a compact machine’.
Buyers at Currys approved of its ‘ease of use’ , ’great coffee in seconds’ and ‘excellent tasting coffee’.
The Tassimo Caddy TAS7002GB coffee machine is super convenient. Read on to find out why.
On-board capsules mean you don’t have to rummage in the drawer or the cupboard when you’re making a hot drink. You can stash 32 of them in the integrated holder. It has all the other niceties you’d want: one touch brewing, easy cleaning via the service capsule, and an LED display that tells you that the water tank needs refilling or the machine needs to be descaled, among other things.
We think that having the capsules to hand on the machine is super convenient. You’ll just need the extra space on the worksurface to accommodate the width of the machine. It also has all the Tassimo benefits of making a lot of different drinks, so it’s a great family machine and handy when you’re entertaining.
At Amazon the purchasers of this model rated it as ‘well designed and thought out’, ‘easy to use and maintain’ and said it ‘makes lovely coffee’.
Those who’d bought from Currys ‘love the side caddy pod storage’ and said it’s ‘fast, quiet and easy to use’. The drinks were a hit as well: ‘makes lovely cappuccino and latte as well as chocolate’.
How to buy a Tassimo coffee machine
If you’re new to Tassimo machines, there are two things to bear in mind when you’re comparing them to other capsule coffee machines as well as filter and bean-to-cup designs.
First, Tassimo machines make milky drinks using capsules rather than with a built-in steam wand or milk frother. Secondly, they use 3.3 bar pressure unlike the 19 bar generally found on espresso makers, so your coffee, while tasty, may not have a coffee shop-style head on it.
