If you want to make a PPI claim, 11.59pm tonight is your last chance. PPI, or 'Payment Protection Insurance', may have been sold to you as part of a personal loan, credit car, mortgage, or other type of finance deal. If you were mis-sold this type of product, it means you didn't need it at all, or the terms of your financial agreement mean that you wouldn't be able to take advantage of it anyway.

Now there is a chance to get the money you paid out for PPI back from your lender or bank – but you only have until midnight tonight to submit a PPI claim. You will need to contact your provider directly, but don't worry: you won't need the paperwork if you don't have it or can't find it. You just need your full name, the address for the time you would've taken out the loan, and the approximate dates for your loan/financial agreement.

If you do have the paperwork, but you're not sure whether you had PPI or not, the FCA have a handy guide to checking if you had PPI, including the types of terms to look out for, such as 'credit insurance' or 'credit protection'. Even if you're still not sure after checking your paperwork, you should still contact your bank or loan provider – they will investigate whether you had PPI and issue compensation if it's due. You can also call the FCA-managed assistance line on 0800 101 8800.
