Top Overall: White Dove OC-17

No surprise that Benjamin Moore's top-selling shade, White Dove, is a classic, softly shaded white, as seen in our U.S. editor Kaitlyn's former Michigan lakehouse above. The light and luminous hue works on all surfaces as a focal point as well as on moldings and trim. Kaitlyn's favorite shade of all time, also a white, Simply White OC-117, is another best-seller according to Benjamin Moore.

Runners Up:

Top Blue: Hale Navy HC-154

It's hard to resist a true navy hue. The deeply saturated Hale Navy brings maximum impact on cabinetry, doors, woodwork, or even as an accent wall.  Looking for more Hale Navy inspo, just take a search through Instagram. If there's a color that has found social media fame, it's Benjamin Moore Hale Navy, where you'll find countless examples of the inky blue hue, like in this gorgeous nautical-inspired powder room in Panama City Beach from Summer on the Coast where Hale Navy gets the shiplap treatment.

Runners Up:

Top Neutral: Revere Pewter HC-172

Revere Pewter, a light gray with warm undertones, is one of the most popular Greige (a mix of gray and beige) options on the market, and a few years ago it was one of those styles that realtors claimed a coat of the color on your walls would help your home sell. Depending on your lighting, the classic and calming shade can take on more of a gray or a beige, but we can all agree it looks fabulous in this particular farmhouse-influenced home

Some describe the color as muddy (or earthy) due to its warm undertones, so if you're looking for a crisp, cool gray, you'll want to look to Benjamin Moore's other popular colors like Gray Owl.

Runners Up:

Top Green: November Rain 2142-60

November Rainis categorized as a green, but it's definitely more of a neutral paint shade with very subtle green undertones and part of Benjamin Moore's Off-White collection. People love it because it tends to change color in the lighting, leaning more taupe and sometimes more green. See it above in the bedroom of Elizabeth Burns of EDB Designs, where it creates a calm and serene environment and makes the white coverlet look even brighter.

Runners Up:

Top Pink or Red: First Light 2102-70

Light and airy First Light was actually Benjamin Moore's pick as the color of the year in 2020, for its rosy color that signified potential. The optimistic color is not just for a nursery, but your whole home. Splash First Light across a wall, as an accent, and we even love to see it as your home's front door.

Runners Up:

Top Yellow: Hawthorne Yellow HC-4

Benjamin Moore refers to the buttery Hawthone Yellow as a historical color that is inspired by traditional North American architecture in the 18th and 19th centuries, but it's still just as beautiful and fresh in contemprorary designs today.  We love that the soft color is both calming and cheerful, making it perfect for sunny kitchens or a child's room. It's also even extremely popular as an exterior color—we're talking whole home Hawthorne Yellow.

Runners Up:

Top Black: Black 2132-10

Black 2132-10 is as basic and essential as it gets when seeking a true black paint color. Whether you're bold enough to paint an entire room, go for a pop of drama with black moldings, or again, we love the focal point of a black door or even fireplace. Black is timeless, tried, and true, and if you've been holding out on black, we're pretty sure this living room inspo will change your mind otherwise.
