We've got a round up of the best sheds you can buy that we're pretty pleased with. But if you think every shed is just a shed, we bet you'll change your mind after seeing this year's Cuprinol Shed of the Year award finalists.

This year's competing sheds are showing the Attenborough effect, with reclaimed wood a popular material, and the themes of sustainability and living in harmony with nature informing many of the designs.

Our favourites, in no particular order, are South Lanarkshire's Ian McMorran's whimsical Hunter's Bothy (top) and Louise Mayoh's Retro Retreat (below).

Head judge and founder of the competition, Andrew Wilcox, says, 'We’ve been absolutely blown away by the incredible, imaginative and innovative sheds entered into this year’s competition. Every year there are more and more outstanding entries that take us by surprise.

'The creativity and imagination of all entrants never fail to amaze the judges. This year’s bunch are second to none. We’ve been really impressed by the aesthetics of the sheds – especially those that entered the brand new Nature’s Haven category, with entrants really demonstrating how important it is to welcome nature into our lives and our gardens.'
