The moment Thanksgiving is over, it's ALL about Christmas. One person we always turn to when thinking about chic yet traditional Christmas decoration ideas for our abodes is Shea McGee.

The Dream Home Makeover interior designer shared a fabulously easy way to phase in the festive vibes on her blog. She suggests displaying ornaments in bowls as a way to decorate your home for Christmas.

"Although ornaments are typically used on trees, we love seeing them styled in unique ways," she wrote on her blog. "This year, we’re styling ours in bowls."

Of course, you could try putting them in baskets, vases, or storage trunks. It's perfect if you want to add some Christmas decor without spending hours creating something too elaborate.

You also can't get much simpler when it comes to decking the halls for the festive season than pouring some baubles into a bowl. It's a great budget Christmas decorating idea, too.

How to make this easy Christmas decoration

You only need to buy some ornaments in your chosen color scheme (if you're saving the rest for the tree) and gently stack them in a bowl. You can place this bauble-filled bowl on a side table in your hallway, on a coffee table, or your kitchen table. With little effort, it instantly amps up the festive feel for you and your guests.

If you love Christmas but just can't deal with the homemade wreaths and other DIY decorating ideas on Pinterest, this one is for you. McGee went on to write that as well as filling bowls with ornaments, she likes to add them to stockings for extra personality.

She says you can even use smaller ornaments as the finishing touch on our gifts wrapped under the tree. There really are no rules.

When it comes to putting up the tree, you'll need the best Christmas tree decorating ideas to make the focal point of your decorations look its best. We love the idea of a couple of bowls filled with glittery red baubles — the perfect lazy Christmas decorating idea.
