Hilary Duff is deeming her home office so yesterday!

Ahead of welcoming her third child with her husband, Matthew Koma, the 33-year-old star swiftly transformed the only house left in her Los Angeles home — an office — into a gender neutral nursery idea. To complete this not-so-easy task, she knew she needed an expert, and that's when she turned to the interior design firm, Maison Ko.

Led by David Samuel Ko — a multidisciplinary creative — the firm aims to blur the lines between interiors and fashion, reflecting David's sharp sense of style and honest yet approachable take on design — aligning with Duff's current home aesthetic.

This dream team immediately went to work, and in no time, realized one other tiny roadblock: the baby's gender. Duff and Koma wanted the gender to be a surprise, so they needed to construct a room that could work for either him or her.

The duo designed a gender-friendly nursery suitable for either sex and filled with playful pieces that felt unique and special — and one of the most exciting aspects of the room?

Two of the main items selected are from Crate and Barrel — which means it's easier than ever for anyone looking to recreate Hilary Duff's newborn nursery.

1. This chic cream chair

'With the dark grey (almost black) painted walls, this glider was the perfect contrast. Hilary wanted something cozy and big enough to hold her and another kid if needed,' explains Ko.
