Need a boiler replacement urgently? Even if you don't, we'd suggest bookmarking this page, because winter is coming (in the words of Jon Snow – Game of Thrones, not Channel 4 News), and the boiler ALWAYS breaks down just when you need it most. We've just come across a smart tech installation firm that is hoping to do for replacing broken boilers what Deliveroo has done for takeaways and Uber has done for taxis.
- Find out what type of boiler you need and how to take care of it with our essential guide to boilers
Called BOXT (opens in new tab), it’s designed to speed up the process of getting your boiler replaced if it goes wrong beyond repair, promising delivery and fitting the next day.
BOXT's founders built the technology platform to take some of the financial sting and inconvenience out of having to replace such an essential but expensive item.
If your boiler goes wrong, instead of hours spent researching a replacement and then trying to find a tradesperson to fit it, you go onto the website, get an affordable fixed price quote within 90 seconds and have it installed the next day (if ordered before 3pm).
Already the second largest installer of boilers in the UK, BOXT recently partnered with Google to provide free voice-controlled smart heating, too – supplying a Google Home Mini smart speaker and Nest Learning Thermostat with every new boiler.
No personal details, like an email address, need to be input to get a quote. All installations are audited and top brand name products, such as Worcester Bosch, are fitted. And by minimising processes, BOXT passes this efficiency on in the form of savings for its customers.
BOXT doesn’t just offer this service for boilers. It also installs air conditioning units and will soon be doing the same for EV chargers for electric cars.
