Fans of 90s classic horror film Scream will be excited to hear that you can now stay in the real house terrorized by Ghostface. To mark the blockbuster's 25th anniversary, David Arquette (who played Dewey Riley) will be hosting brave guests on Airbnb for a ghostly overnight stay.

We've been going all out with Halloween decorating ideas at home this year - but the very house from Scream is far more shiver-inducing...

If you're looking for a memorable way to celebrate Halloween this year, you can book a one-night stay for up to four people at the Northern California estate on 27th, 29th and 31st October. The terrifying Ghostface figure in the window could work as a scary Halloween window idea for our own homes.

'Protecting the town of Woodsboro is my life’s duty, and I’ve certainly developed a knack for escaping Ghostface,' says Riley. 'As your host, I’ll be keeping a watchful eye on guests to ensure no one gets surprised by an unexpected plot twist.'

When it came out back in 1996, the original genre-busting movie became a phenomenon. It has since spawned four sequels. The latest film in the series will be released in January next year in theatres across the world.

We're loving the old-world American style of the house with its traditional kitchen, huge landing and shiplap exterior. In the daytime, at least, it looks like a lovely traditional place for a night away, with lots of inspiring traditional living room ideas

As night falls, however, things are bound to get very eerie. During their stay, guests will enjoy a very 90s movie marathon with films shown on VHS and snacks like Jiffy Pop.

They'll also see the knife marks on the doors to the garage where Dewey’s sister Tatum met her unfortunate end. Mega-fans will also be able to purchase unique memorabilia, from Woodsboro High gear, to posters and a DVD bundle of the first four Scream films.

Superfans interested in tempting fate can request to book this stay on Airbnb. If you can't make it or miss out on tickets, you can also take part in an online experience with Scream screenwriter Kevin Williamson.

Book on the Airbnb website. Kevin will reveal behind-the-scene secrets from the making of the hit film.
