Pull out your lace gloves and pack your best ball gown because Downton Abbey has just been listed on Airbnb!

To celebrate the release of the Downton Abbey film, the owners (no they are are not Lord and Lady Grantham), the Earl and Countess of Carnarvon have posted Highclere Castle on Airbnb. Fans will have the opportunity to stay in the castle and, as the advert clearly states, be 'treated like royalty'.

Not boasting or anything, but last week we actually had the pleasure of going to Downton Abbey, sorry Highclere, and interviewing Lady Carnarvon about how she beautifully renovated the property. Make sure you go and have a read through that – it will put you in good stead for your application, and yes, of course, there is an application process!

We are sure you are all dying to know how you can book Highclere Castle and what the stay entails. Well, during the stay, guests will spend an exclusive evening drinking cocktails in the Saloon followed by a dinner with the Earl and Countess of Carnarvon in the State Dining Room. Coffee will then be served in the Library before you retire to one of the stunning Gallery bedrooms. Breakfast the next morning will be followed by a tour of the castle and grounds. Oh, how truly marvellous.

So how do you go about booking to stay at Downton? Well actually it's only available for one evening on 26th November and the opportunity to reserve the castle will go live on 1st October (do get that date in my diary please Mr Carson). To book you must have an Airbnb account and have a passionate love of Downton Abbey, so best get binge-watching from season one...
