The best Amazon rugs
If you are after a rug that's going to add some subtle pattern and interest to any room but not totally overwhelm the space, this is our top pick. It's neutral so is going to work with any colour scheme you already have going on but the Aztec pattern is enough to add just a touch of style. There are loads of sizes to choose from the and they are super cheap too so a really affordable way to update your room.
Everyone loves a Persian rug, they are just a classic that suits so many styles and isn't going to date any time soon. Not so long ago to get a worn Persian rug, you'd probably have to trawl the souks or pay out a lot for the real thing, but now we are seeing loads of Persian-style rugs that come pre-distressed (ie the print makes it look worn). Amazon have loads of really affordable options but we love this neutral design – despite the lighter colour, it would still be perfect for high-traffic area because it already looks like its been walked over for years.
A big fluffy rug is a super easy autumn update, throw this one down in your bedroom and living room and you have an instantly warmer and more cosy room. This area rug comes in loads of colours, but obviously we couldn't resist grey – a practical and stylish choice for a rug.
This is quite a long pile rug which is great for comfort but less so for high traffic areas so many keep this to bedrooms and living rooms. It has an anti-slip underside so won't be sliding around if you have hard floors and can be washed by hand.
If you are after one of the best Amazon rugs you need to check out the Momeni (opens in new tab) store. They have so many gorgeous rugs in bang on trend designs. We loved this grey number, because of how versatile it is, there is a bit of a boho edge which we love, but it would work with any style. The low pile means its good for high traffic areas like hallways and kitchens and the colour will hide any scuffs too.
We have been seeing this kind of intricate rattan woven rug all over Instagram in the last few months, and we are not lying when we say some of the options we were looking at were in the hundreds. Amazon is selling this gorgeous jute rug for just £39.90, and that's for the larger size (120cm) if you are after something smaller, you can pick up the 90cm version for just £29.90.
This would be perfect for adding a rustic touch to your living room, or layered with other rugs in a bedroom. In fact, the sturdy jute material that doesn't show marks would also make it an ideal rug for a hallway or a kitchen.
If it's a Berber style rug you're after but haven't found anything that suits your budget, Amazon has loads of options. Our favourite is the Paco Home shaggy Berber rug. Rather than being the traditional monochrome you usually see, this Amazon rug is actually a softer blue and cream, perfect if you like a more subtle style but still want to add a slight boho vibe to your space.
It's a high pile rug, so it is really soft and fluffy underfoot, perfect for a bedroom but we will say, as with all long pile rugs, this wouldn't be suitable for areas of high traffic as it would wear quickly.
Rugs are perfect for adding a splash of colour to your room, even for those afraid of colour, because they are temporary. You can whack down a rainbow rug, live with it for a while, get used to it, and if the technicoloured life still isn't for you, no harm done, rug comes up (so much easier than painting over a florescent orange wall).
If you are looking to add a bit more colour to your home, this Movian Matevir Rectangular area rug would be perfect. It's got a cream base, nothing too crazy and all the colours are all quite muted. The pattern is tribal inspired, always a big trend for the summer, so this could be the perfect seasonal update.
Of course we had to pick out a faux fur rug, they are just so versatile – you can pop them over the back of a sofa or at the end of the bed, as well as obviously on the floor. We couldn't resist this Hequn faux fur pink rug, the colour is stunning!
Despite the cheap price, it's made from quality faux fur that tufts nicely and doesn't feel at all synthetic under foot. Again we wouldn't recommend for high traffic areas, but if you are desperate to have it in your hallway, just order a rug brush (opens in new tab) (yes that's a thing) along with it.
Our love for distressed Persian style rugs is still going strong; if it doesn't look like it's been walked over for a hundred years at least, we want nothing to do with it. What's great about them too, is because they already look nicely worn they are perfect for high-traffic areas or if you have pets or kids for that matter. They are easy to keep clean and suit all styles.
We love the colours in this Nuloom Persian rug , the blue adds just enough punch to get noticed, but it's not so busy that it risks taking over the whole room. Just note that the colours are slightly darker than pictured here, the white is creamier and the blue is deeper.
