The best ways to do your autumn laundry – with Samsung’s help

Keep on top of your laundry this autumn with these handy tips

We can’t think of a better companion to getting through those piles of back-to-school laundry than the Samsung  ecobubble™ washing machine. We’ll be honest and admit: doing laundry in the autumn is just that much more of a chore than in the summer, when it’s easy to dry clothes outside, and when we all just wear fewer clothes, hence less need of washing.

Come October, though, it’s a very different story: it all just seems to keep piling up, and nothing dries, because now it’s both cold and humid. Samsung to the rescue – the company’s innovative washing machines will take the pain out of autumn laundering; read on to find out how.

1. Set a quicker wash cycle if you’re not doing that much laundry

Have a lot of laundry to do, and not all of it can go in the same cycle? If you have a couple of silk things (for example) that need washing quickly and separately from everything else, wash them on the quick-wash cycle of your machine.

2. Choose a quiet washing machine if you’re working from home

Now that so many of us are working from home, you don’t want a video call disrupted by the sound of a loudly spinning washing machine that sounds like an airplane about to take off. The Samsung machines are very quiet indeed and won’t disrupt your day.

3. Keep finding stray socks? Invest in a machine that allows you to add clothes during the cycle

This is one of the things we really like about the Samsung appliances – the AddWash™ door* allows you to add that stray sock/t-shirt that fell as you were carrying the pile after the cycle has started. No more odd socks!

4. Keep your machine hygienic

Washing machines collect bacteria over time, and it’s very important to do a hot service wash about every month to keep the  hygienic and safe for use. The Samsung  ecobubble™ machines, though, take care of that for you: they are self-cleaning, removing 99.9 percent of odour-causing bacteria from the drum and remove dirt from the door rubber seal, after each wash, so you have less scrubbing to do. The tray is also self-cleaning, without the need for any extra detergent. There’s a special steam cycle, called Hygiene Steam, that works at removing both for bacteria and allergens.

5. Set the spin speed higher

High spin speeds are not ideal for delicate fabrics, but then those do tend to dry faster anyway. If you’re washing lots of heavy cottons, especially towels and t-shirts, you’ll want to set your spin speed as high as it will go. The Samsung  have a maximum spin speed of 1400 rpm – that’s pretty fast and faster than most washing machines with a typical maximum spin speed of 1200. Your clothes will just take that much less time to dry.

Get the Samsung WW90T684DLH (White) and WW90T684DLN (Graphite) at John Lewis & Partners with £60 cashback until 3rd November; the machines come with up to five years’** guarantee.

*AddWash™ door can be opened at any time when the drum temperature is below 50°C.
