This latest interior design trend is inspired by the popular Beetlejuice movies which all have a similar aesthetic.

“The Beetlejuicecore trend takes inspiration from the iconic Tim Burton franchise, pulling in a mix of spooky, vintage, and eccentric elements that when done right, can create a space that's bold, quirky, and uniquely yours,” explains Rachel Stringer, design expert at Raleigh Realty.

“Think black and white stripes, bold colors like purples and greens, and a mix of gothic and vintage furniture that looks like it's been pulled straight out of another era — or dimension,” she adds.

Why is Beetlejuicecore popular at the moment?

The reason Rachel says that spooky, vintage styles like this have made a comeback is simple — people are craving something different, something that breaks the mold of the minimalist, sleek designs that have dominated for so long.

This is something I’ve seen time and time again this year, such as with the trends of vintage nostalgia and dopamine dressing.

“There's a desire to inject personality into homes, and Beetlejuicecore does that in a big way,” says Rachel.

She continues, “It's a trend that's unapologetically loud and playful, tapping into that nostalgia for the bizarre, yet creating spaces that still feel cozy and lived-in.”

How to bring Beetlejuicecore into your home

For those who want to dip their toes into Beetlejuicecore, start with stripes — aka the pattern the titular character wears.

“Stripes are the signature print of the Beetlejuice movie and will be the main design element to consider when styling your home to achieve an authentic, Beetlejuice-inspired style,” explains Cassandra Leisz, creative director at Ruggable.

“When adding striped patterns to your interior, it’s important to remember the impact the direction of the pattern will have on your room,” she says.

For example, Cassandra says horizontal striping will make a room appear wider whereas vertical striping will give the illusion that the room is taller.

You can either achieve this with peel-and-stick wallpaper or with a fun black and white striped rug.

As well as going for this impactful print, it’s also important to consider how you can incorporate pops of color.

As the content editor at Real Homes, I'm always looking out for the latest trends. Some of them make perfect sense and some of them are very surprising. The fridgescaping trend falls into the latter of these categories, but I've been nonetheless fascinated by it.

I've seen it all over my TikTok and Instagram feeds, so I had to find out what it's about, the pros and cons, and top tips for trying it if you're that way inclined. I've spoken with fridgescaping influencer Lynzi Judish, as well as a kitchen expert, to get the lowdown.

For those searching for kitchen trends to bring into your cooking space, this is one of the quirkiest ones I've seen this year.

What is fridgescaping?

“Fridgescaping is the art of organizing and styling the inside of a refrigerator to be visually appealing,” says Janice Page, interior designer and owner of PKsurroundings.

“Think of it as interior design for your fridge, involving careful placement of items in aesthetically pleasing ways, using matching decor and even color coordination to create a sense of harmony,” she adds.

The pros of fridgescaping

For those who are creative and love bringing interior design trends into their homes in fun ways, fridgescaping could be worth trying.

“I particularly love tablescaping and fridgescaping is very similar to that,” says Lynzi Judish, fridgescaper and influencer at @lynziliving.

She continues, “I’ve also become very obsessed with produce after this ranging from growing it to cooking it, so displaying it in a beautiful way that encourages me to eat healthy has become a real fun aspect of the process.”

Lynzi adds that she’s had lots of other people comment that it helps them to eat healthy, as it stops them wasting produce and displays it in an enticing way.

“Others say it’s a way to romanticize your life and to breathe some new life into a piece of your home that’s usually pretty mundane,” she adds. Lynzi also loves the dopamine decor hit of opening the fridge and seeing food looking more aesthetically pleasing.

As well as this, she says it’s a great way to stay on top of cleaning your fridge. “It’s so easy to maintain keeping it tidy in this process,” she adds.

Plus, Lynzi says it’s a very thrift-friendly hobby, as you can find budget-friendly decor in secondhand furniture stores.

The cons of fridgescaping

One of the big cons is that some of the food that you display out in the open, rather than in containers, will ripen much quicker.

“Berries are probably at the top of that list, so you need to prioritize them and eat them quickly. It’s definitely more time-consuming than just throwing food in the refrigerator when you get home from the grocery store,” Lynzi says.

“Setting up and maintaining a fridgescaped refrigerator requires time and regular upkeep, which might not be practical for everyone,” Janice agrees.

As well as this, Lynzi says It might be a little bit inconvenient, depending on how you design the refrigerator, meaning you might have to shift things around to get to something else.

“I also think that someone who doesn’t actually eat all of their produce might have more food waste,” she adds.

Top tips for fridgescaping

Want to try this at home? These are Lynzi’s top tips for fridgescaping:

• Take it slow: “Start slowly by using items that you might use anyway. For example, most people will have their butter or eggs out in the refrigerator anyway, so a cute butter dish and egg crate are good starts.”
• Meal plan: “I recommend making a meal plan before shopping so you have a good grasp of what you have and don’t over-shop just to make your refrigerator look pretty.”
• Choose the right containers: “Not all containers that look like they could work for fridgescaping are right for food storage. Testing is important if you’re using old antique pieces. You don’t want to give yourself lead poisoning because you left asparagus in a vase for two weeks. Or, if you’re buying something online, it should say it in the manufacturing notes if it’s not food safe.”
• Carefully place items: “Things like apples are heavy ethylene producers and tend to make things ripen quicker and certain veggies are very sensitive to ethylene, so you wouldn’t want to store them next to each other.”
• Avoid cross-contamination: “You want to be careful about cross-contamination, like not leaving meat out in the open uncovered or making sure you clean up spills right away.”

Fridgescaping buys

If you decide to try fridgescaping, make sure you’re enjoying yourself while doing it, rather than doing it to jump on a trend.

“Just have fun with it — at the end of the day, it’s not that serious and if this doesn’t bring you joy, please don’t feel any pressure to do it. That defeats the purpose!” Lynzi finishes by saying.

One of the most painful parts of living in campus accommodation for me was doing the laundry. We didn't have a washing machine in our flat, so I'd have to go down five flights of stairs, across the road, and to the shared laundry station, all while lugging my laundry hamper. This was not the vibe.

What is the TikTok laundry bag hack?

This hack is all about making the chore of laundry easier, with you putting all your laundry in one big, washable bag before placing it in the washing machine. You can also place laundry cleaning supplies like a pod inside the pocket.

“This keeps your clothes contained, reducing the chances of losing small items like socks or underwear, and the transfer from washer to dryer becomes easy,” says Daniel Brown, cleaning expert and CEO of Handy Cleaners.

Pros of the TikTok laundry bag hack

One of the major reasons why this is a game-changer is because it’s super convenient.

“On one hand, the laundry bag prevents small items from being mislaid in washing, and on the other hand, it speeds up and facilitates moving clothes from the washer to the dryer,” Daniel says.

Because of this, not only is it a great hack for those in dorms, but for those with families with lots of smaller items.

If you give it a go, Daniel advises using a good, breathable mesh bag that allows proper water and detergent flow. He also advises not using it for heavy clothes with stains.

“This hack will work more for lightly soiled clothes, delicates, or small loads rather than a full week's worth of laundry,” he says.

Cons of the TikTok laundry bag hack

While having all your laundry in one place can be useful, it might not make sense if you’re only washing clothes once a week.

“While I can see the benefits of it, I think it only makes sense if you’re washing a lot of clothes regularly, like every other day,” explains Alex Varela, cleaning expert and manager of Dallas Maids. “As you can see in the TikTok hack, the bag is filled less than 25% of its full capacity.” If you do try this hack, make sure not to overload the bag.

It’s also worth noting that clothes washed inside a mesh bag might not get as thoroughly cleaned as when they are free to move about in the washer.

“Water and detergent may not fully penetrate the fabric because the bag gets in the way, and that would be a problem when washing heavily soiled items,” adds Daniel.

I've asked interior designers what it's about, how to get the look at home, plus picked out beautiful decor buys.

This interior design trend is perfect for those who love snug and sophisticated interiors. “The frazzled English trend takes great cues from the worlds of Richard Curtis movies,” says Kfir Aharon, design expert and owner of House Design Hub.

He continues, “The style adores the lived-in, somewhat messy home of characters that have been played by actresses like Renée Zellweger, Kate Winslet, and Keira Knightley.”

“To many, this aesthetic is that little relief from perfection that has grown too weary — an eminently real, cozy approach to home decor,” he adds.

How to bring the frazzled English woman aesthetic into your home

This style is all about embracing a casual, cluttered coziness, which is easy to bring into your home.

“I achieve this look for my clients using vintage-inspired furniture like faded velvet settees or upholstered headboards, lots of pillows and throws in floral prints or chintz patterns, and a lighter color palette of creams, pale blues, and roses,” says Bob Berriz, interior designer and owner of Berriz Design.

Natural light is key, so Bob suggests focusing on maximizing windows and adding crystal or glass accessories to make a small space appear bigger and brighter.

“Another hallmark of this style is collecting antique or thrift accessories like stacked books, porcelain vases, or silver trays to give the space a lived-in feel,” Bob explains.

“I often add decorative touches from local craft fairs or antique stores to make the space authentic to my client.” This is also a great way to bring the vintage nostalgia trend into your home.

The key is not worrying about everything matching perfectly, as the charm is in the slightly undone look. “By doing this, the overall impression will be a relaxed, feminine sanctuary inspired by English country charm,” Bob adds.

I think the living room is the most important room of a house. It's the room that guests see the most, so it has got to have major wow-factor. Dakota Fanning clearly agrees with me, as her one has plenty of eye-catching features.

With the actor's new movie The Watchers coming out, I took the opportunity to have a look through her Instagram and stumbled across a gorgeous picture of her living room. I've asked interior designers why her pop of unexpected red, mural, open layout and more work so well, plus how to get the look at home.

If you're looking for living room ideas that are easy to do yet oh-so-elegant, Dakota's place offers so much inspiration.

Dakota’s room is sophisticated yet inviting, thanks to its balance of bold colors with nature-inspired elements, which is encouraged by a subtle red, white, and blue theme.

“The living room features a deep blue fireplace mantel and wainscoting that extends into the dining room, adding a cohesive sense of depth and elegance to the space,” says Nina Lichtenstein, principal designer and founder of Nina’s Home Design.

“This is beautifully contrasted by a large, plush red couch that injects a bold, vibrant energy into the space,” Nina adds.

This is a great example of the unexpected red theory, which is one of the biggest interior design trends this year. “To get a similar look, choose a colorful sofa or armchair and build the room's palette around it,” suggests Bob Berriz, interior designer and owner of Berriz Design.

Above the fireplace, a large artwork in shades of red, white, and blue anchors the space, subtly echoing the room’s color scheme. “Flanked by white-shaded sconces, the piece draws attention without overwhelming the room, serving as a tasteful focal point,” Nina explains.

Moving across from this, the dining room walls are adorned with a stunning tree-filled landscape mural. Nina continues, “The mural’s organic feel is perfectly complemented by a burlwood dining table, which adds warmth and texture to the room.”

For small rooms, Bob says strategically placed accent walls or murals draw the eye, creating an illusion of more space.

This is all beautifully highlighted by the striking chandelier hanging above, which is a smart way to make a small space look luxe. “The chandelier, while eye-catching, is designed not to compete with the mural, instead allowing the art and furniture to shine,” Nina explains.

The mom of three and wife of Jason Kelce took to her Instagram to showcase her thoughtfully designed kitchen in a recent Reel and it really highlighted the importance of being able to move around your space freely, while making the most of the area you have to work with.

In terms of kitchen layout ideas, Kylie’s gone for an island layout, making this the heart of the room, with it being ideally located to allow you to wash veggies, prep food, do dishes, and grab essentials from the refrigerator. This “triangle is based on keeping the cooker, sink, and refrigerator close together to optimize your time in the kitchen by allowing you to move between preparing your food, cooking, and cleaning efficiently,” Rossella explains.

Unlike some other celebrity homes, which only serve as design inspiration instead of us actually being able to imagine ourselves in them, the Kelce family’s looks like a typical busy family kitchen, which we love. It also has a timeless appearance to it thanks to its clean white cabinetry and marble countertops.

“Kylie’s kitchen has access points in two places, as well as the ability to be able to move around the rest of the kitchen without having to enter the main cook and food prep space, which is what you want for a busy kitchen with young children,” suggests Richard Davonport, Managing Director at Davonport. And we have to agree.

Those of us who love to pack up our van or vehicle and go camping will know how tricky it can be to cook on the go. While we can’t get enough of toasting some s'mores over an open fire, making proper meals can be a bit more difficult, especially as you don’t always want to have to lug lots of camping equipment around with you.

The actress, who shares the home with her husband Charlie McDowell, originally opened up her home to Vogue, with her admitting that by doing so she was able “to revisit all of the little details that make our house a home.” And the outdoor area is just as inviting as what you’ll find on the inside.

When speaking to Vogue, Lily describes her interior style as “mid-century California meets Scandinavian,” with this also extending to her outdoor oasis. And we can certainly see the inspiration that she took from these two approaches. But how can you get a similar look in your own garden? Keep reading to find out more.

How to recreate the look

According to the Vogue feature, the garden was “inspired by Piet Oudolf, the designer who did the famed grounds at Noma.” And this can be seen in some of the plants and landscaping.

“The key to achieving Lily's garden aesthetic lies in thoughtful layering and creating intimate spaces,” admits Loren Taylor, owner of Outdoor Fountain Pros. “When I design gardens, I often recommend starting with a variety of plants at different heights. This approach adds depth and makes even small areas feel luxurious and full.”

Starting with taller shrubs and plants towards the rear to provide a backdrop for medium-height plants in front, you can then finish it off with low growing varieties in the foreground. Think lavender, creeping herbs and lamb's ear. These choices can also be a great way to play with color and add a pop of interest to your garden.

And if you can, play around with different textures either. This might mean combining ornamental grasses with more traditional plants and shrubs, but having a variety will help to elevate even the smallest or most sparsely decorated garden.

I've been looking for ages for ways I can work around this in order to add color to my space, and I think I've found the perfect solution. TikToker @itsmeshelbyturner has gone viral for her genius hack of painting over peel-and-stick wallpaper, and designers agree that it's a smart way to avoid upsetting your landlord.

If you're looking for DIY ideas that you can do in a rental that are easy and will transform your space, this one is well-worth trying.

Painting over peel-and-stick wallpaper is a great idea for those who are looking to update their walls without the commitment of permanent wallpaper.

“It offers a cost-effective solution for those who want to redecorate frequently without incurring the expense of removing and installing new wallpaper each time,” says Jonathan Faccone, design expert and founder of Halo Homebuyers.

“I often recommend this method to my clients who are on a budget but still want to refresh their home's interior,” he continues.

If you want to try this at home, Jonathan suggests starting by properly cleaning and preparing the walls. “This may include using a mild detergent and water solution to remove any dirt or residue, as well as sanding down any rough spots or bumps on the wall surface.”

He suggests removing any outlet covers or switch plates before painting to ensure a clean and professional finish.

“My secret tip is using sandpaper or a sanding block (the Gator Sanding Blocks from Walmart are bestsellers), as this can help create a smoother surface for painting, as the peel-and-stick wallpaper may not be completely smooth,” Jonathan says.

He also recommends to make sure you use a fresh roll of wallpaper, as painting over damaged or peeling wallpaper can result in an uneven and unsatisfactory finish.

As well as picking on trend interior paint colors, the kind of paint you select also matters a lot.

“Pick high-quality acrylic latex paints, avoiding those with moisture, like matte finishes, which may make lifting worse,” explains Tony Hoang, design expert at What a Room.

He continues, “Opt for a satin or semi-gloss finish for durability, especially in high-traffic areas.”

Once you’ve applied this, make sure to add a clear topcoat, such as the Minwax Polycrylic from Amazon. “This will give it extra protection against peeling in places like kitchens and bathrooms that can be quite humid,” Tony adds.

Fall has to be my favorite season. The leaves are beautiful colors, the days are made for hot chocolate, and I get to decorate my home with adorable seasonal decor.

I've asked interior designers for the styles they think will be big this season, and I'm so excited about all of them. Putting an emphasis on coziness, choosing earthy colors, and playing with vintage styles are just a couple of top suggestions.

If you're looking to bring the latest interior design trends into your home and want to tailor your home for fall, these are all worth trying.

1. Maximum coziness

This is the season for snuggling up, and this year more than ever people are reaching for home comforts.

“One thing I have noticed clients asking for is putting an emphasis on coziness,” explains Andre Kazimierski, design expert and CEO of Improovy Painters of La Grange.

“Colors like greens and browns can really help invite a warmer, cozier atmosphere inside, while also helping connect to the natural elements of the season,” he continues.

Andre adds that decorative elements such as candles and naturalistic decor such as preserved leaves are also perfect for enhancing the warm and inviting vibes.

2. Playful nostalgia

One of the biggest small space trends this year has been nostalgia, with people bringing in pieces that remind them of certain times and things. This is coming in a big way in fall.

“I've been seeing a desire for more ‘on the nose’ fall decor like colorful leaf garlands, pumpkins, and brighter fall tones,” explains Nikki Lo, interior design expert at hipandhome.

She continues, “For a lot of people, fall is getting warmer, and they're losing all the fall classics that naturally occur this time of year, like cooler temperatures and changing leaves.”

Nikki adds that this is a great way to celebrate and romanticize this season. So, don’t be afraid to hang up fall wreaths, choose fall decor like pumpkins, and go big with leaf motifs.

3. Earthy tones

While it can be easy to reach for oranges and burgundies this season, this year designers are thinking slightly outside the box.

“In terms of colors, earthy, muted tones like sage and olive green are taking center stage, often paired with natural materials to create serene, grounding spaces,” says Rachel Stringer, design expert at Raleigh Realty.

“These colors work beautifully in minimalist settings and can be easily incorporated through paint, textiles, or even the addition of indoor plants,” she adds.

If you want to add colorful contrast, Rachel suggests using vibrant hues like cobalt blue to add pops of energy and personality. “These can be introduced through accessories like throw pillows, artwork, or accent chairs,” she adds.

4. Organic minimalism

This year design pros have been waving goodbye to all gray-minimalism, instead adding pieces with more personality.

“I’ve seen a shift from this towards a warmer, more organic minimalism that incorporates natural materials like wood and jute,” Rachel says.

This style emphasizes a mix of wood tones and organic textures, resulting in spaces that feel both modern and inviting.

5. Cottagecore vintage

I’ve seen cottagecore making a huge comeback this year, which is hallmarked by vintage-style decor with animal and nature motifs.

“This trend is all about personal expression and curated collections, encouraging the blending of decor from different eras and styles to create spaces that feel authentic and timeless,” explains Rachel.

If you want to find pieces with real character, I recommend scouting out secondhand furniture stores such as Goodwill and looking on sites like Etsy.

“Plus, feel free to blend different styles — like pairing an earthy-colored sofa with a vintage coffee table — to create a unique, balanced aesthetic that reflects your personal taste,” Rachel finishes by saying.

How to recreate the look

Achieving Charli's look starts with refreshing your living room and adding more life to the room. It's all about balancing styles so one look isn't too overwhelming. If you're in a period home, try adding some modern decor buys and if you're somewhere more contemporary, look for vintage designs.

"Mix and match furniture and accessories from different eras and genres. A vintage-inspired armchair paired with a modern coffee table can add depth and character to the room," says Rachel. 

If you're investing in a statement piece, find pieces in contrasting colors and patterns that will add dimension and visual interest. 

"Spend money on a couch made from patterned velvet and mix it with different kinds of furniture that will add color to your room," says Nitya.

We've all been there - you're running out the door and notice you've spilled your morning coffee all over your white top. Or some beauty products have leaked in your luggage while on vacation. Whatever your situation, there is a stain removal method out there to tackle the mess.

TikTok user, Anastasia Gerrans, took to the video platform to share how she got rid of stains from white clothes after a bottle of liquid medicine spilled in her bag. Her genius method is not only easy to pull off, it's hugely effective. 

The achieve the same results, start out by soaking the stained clothes in a bucket of clean water, like this Ozark Trail 10-Quart Collapsible Sink available at Walmart (it has a 4.5 star rating and over 300 reviews). If you don't have a small basin or bucket on hand, you can also soak the clothes directly in the sink or bathtub. The pre-soak will help remove any part of the stain that dissolves in water and get rid of loose debris.

Next, drain the water and refill the bucket with clean water. Add a splash of Shout Active Enzyme Laundry Stain Remover (available on Amazon) to the water and mix together. The effectiveness of this method all comes down to this genius product. It's 50 times more concentrated than in-wash powder and has a triple-acting formula that clings, penetrates and lifts stains.

Add your stained clothes back into the basin and soak for at least ten minutes but Anastasia recommends at least 30-40 minutes. Once it's done soaking you can rinse or throw it into the wash with the rest of your laundry, and hang to dry.

More laundry essentials

Looking for some more laundry hacks that work? "Look for detergents that include oxygen-based bleach, which works well in lifting odors and stains without causing any damage to synthetic fibers," says Daniel Brown, CEO of handycleaners.com.

You can also add some vinegar to your mixture if your clothes are stuck with some tough-to-remove odors. "Make a solution of one part white vinegar to four parts cold water. Soak your clothes for 30 minutes to an hour before washing. Vinegar acts in such a way that it subdues odors very well and helps dissipate the gunk quickly," says Daniel.

If you’re looking to make a small room appear bigger, choosing light and bright colors like white is a good idea.

“I also like the sideboard, with natural wood grain that adds warmth and a touch of rustic charm, which balances the more modern elements of the room,” adds Tommy Mello, design pro and founder of A1 Garage Door Service.

To replicate this look, he suggests choosing a wooden sideboard with a simple design and natural finish. “Look for pieces with clean lines and minimal hardware to keep the focus on the beauty of the wood itself,” he adds.

I'm also a fan of the cube shelves above the sideboard, which offer practical living room storage ideas while adding to the room’s design.

“If you’re incorporating these into your living space, choose units that fit your room’s dimensions and style, then arrange them to create a balanced look, and use them to showcase both decorative items and everyday essentials,” Tommy explains.

These natural textures are complemented by cute candles and prints that add a burst of color and creativity to the space.

“The reddish record player, resting proudly on the sideboard, also not only serves as a nod to Sabrina’s musical roots but introduces a pop of vibrancy and nostalgic charm,” Nina adds. I think the Victrola Retro Bluetooth Record Player from Amazon is similar, is available in four different colors, and comes with a built-in speaker.

I'm always looking for chic ways to upgrade my bathroom and I often scroll through TikTok. Amazingly, my two worlds of inspiration collided when I saw Selena Gomez filming a video in hers. 

As much as I love hearing about her Rare Beauty range, I couldn't help but be distracted by her gorgeous washroom, which has features such as marble subway tiles to vintage-style lighting. I asked interior designers and our editor why these features work so well and how to recreate the look at home.

If you've been searching for small bathroom ideas like me, Selena Gomez's space has plenty of beautiful aspects to take in.

I’m a big fan of timeless, elegant interiors, which Selena Gomez’s bathroom is a beautiful example of.

“The walls are adorned with pristine gray and white marble subway tiles, with their natural veining adding organic beauty to the space,” explains Nina Lichtenstein, principal designer and founder of Nina’s Home Design. 

“This classic choice of material not only enhances the room's aesthetic appeal but also reflects light, creating a bright and airy atmosphere,” she says.

This marble tiling is a luxe touch you can easily replicate with peel-and-stick tiling, even if you’re renting (like me!).

“I have peel-and-stick subway tiles in my kitchen, and the ES Stone Marble Tile from Wayfair, are very similar to the ones in Selena's bathroom,” says Punteha van Terheyden, editor of Real Homes. “Just make sure you use a sharp pair of scissors, or a craft knife to get around outlets or cut your sheets to size.”

All washrooms need mirrors, as they’re a wonderful way to make a small bathroom look bigger. I love the fact it’s frameless, making it super versatile, which means you can move between different rooms without worrying about the style clashing.

Hanging gracefully in front of this is a domed glass pendant light, which is a real statement piece.

“This feels a bit vintage with its reverse dome glass feature and metal accents,” Punteha says. “I'd probably go for a gold color metal in my space, but the black works nicely too to contrast against all the lighter colors in play."

Nina agrees that it’s a gorgeous choice. “The pendant light also adds warmth and dimension to the space with its soft, inviting glow.”

All of this is tied together wonderfully by the gray small bathroom color (I think Benjamin Moore’s Gray Huskie is a close match) on the ceiling and walls, with the soothing shades providing a neutral backdrop that enhances the natural look of the marble.
