Every month, our team checks out our favourite brands to see what they have in store for us this season. In the spotlight this time is Habitat – a British icon in design, first opened in 1964 by Sir Terence Conran to market his Summa furniture range.

Affordable furniture is not the only thing they offer to their fans. You can also pick up everything from cookware, to textiles (we rate their bedding) and fab lighting, too.

Habitat is great for getting that designer look at a high street price, so I have been browsing the collection and was spoilt for choice.

The company now sells via Argos, though they have their own Habitat site so you can browse (and buy) the whole collection. You can also check them out in person at Sainsbury's while buying groceries.

Personally, I don't think you can ever have too many serving bowls and the mango and enamel one with it's monochrome design might sneak into my trolley if I can resist ordering it before my next weekly shop. I also love the vintage inspired jute rug. The scallop detailing makes it the perfect retro addition to my lounge for summer.

Shop all of my favourites below.

Emily Smith

Emily is senior art editor on Real Homes magazine and has been designing the magazine for over 11 years. Some might say the magazine is her third baby. When she's not designing the pages of the magazine, Emily's either out walking her cockapoo or dreaming up new ways to update the home she shares with her husband and two teenage boys. She's not sure the boys appreciate her interior style, though. Her eldest recently told her he just wants a 'normal' bedroom – she was only trying to add some artwork to his bare grey walls…
