As a designer, entrepreneur, author and educator, Kelly Hoppen MBE found her passion for design at 16 years old. When she was given the opportunity to design a family friend’s kitchen, it kick-started one of the most celebrated interior design careers in the industry.
Kelly has underpinned a signature style which has become known as the ‘Kelly Hoppen look’ and features subtly coordinated neutral tones, textures and furnishings, as well as clean lines with an East-meets-West inspired influence.
Throughout her career, Kelly has been honoured with copious design awards and the proudest point in her career to date came in 2009, when she was made an MBE for her services to interior design.
As well as designing homes, she has also worked on yachts, private jets, hotels, restaurants and offices. One of her recent collaborations is with Pearl Motor Yachts.
With 37 years experience at the forefront of the industry, publishers and businesses continually seek Kelly’s unparalleled expertise, allowing her to indulge her entrepreneurial instincts. She was most recently seen on TV as one of the ‘dragons’ in BBC’s Dragons’ Den, alongside Duncan Bannatyne and Deborah Meaden.
Devoted to making her design ethos accessible to the masses, Kelly shares her extensive knowledge in her popular Kelly Hoppen Design School. She also fronted the Channel 5 series, Superior Interiors, in 2011.
The year 2014 will be another landmark for Kelly as she launches the new KellyHoppen.com, featuring design advice and products for sale in keeping with her signature style. Her book, Kelly Hoppen’s Interior Design Masterclass, is the latest title and her eighth release.
The Kelly Hoppen brand has spanned the high street and online and has kept its core values of high quality, simple, elegant design. The latest collections are available on QVC UK and shop a range of bed linen, soft furnishings, candles, lighting and accessories. Also shop the latest bathroom fittings from Kelly’s range for Crosswater, or discover a range of shutters for Shutterly Fabulous.
Away from the interior design world, Kelly is a dedicated supporter of good causes and supports young and old British entrepreneurs as an ambassador for the Prince’s Trust and the Prince’s Initiative for Mature Enterprises. She is also a proud ambassador for the Government’s GREAT campaign, which works to promote Great Britain’s culture and events worldwide and works with UK Trade & Investment mentoring small and medium-sized businesses.
