The winter season is around the corner, colder and darker days are upon us. This is the perfect time to focus on the comfort of your home and we have looked into some exciting trends to inspire you.

There is a big nod to two themes in particular this autumn – ‘Woodland’ and ‘Metallic’ with natural products like wood, glass, marble, metals and faux furs all cropping up.

The woodland theme takes inspiration from our surroundings at this time of year with the trees shedding their leaves and lining the ground with beautiful vibrant russets, burnt oranges, reds, yellows and brown colours. Think of logs roasting on the fire and relaxing on a cosy sofa to conjure up the woodland fantasy.

Our fluffy woodland animals are also all over soft furnishings with owls, rabbits, foxes and hedgehogs printed on all sorts of fabrics and upholstered on scatter cushions.

Combining different textures creates instant interest in an interior, big knitted and woven textures are a must for this trend and the perfect accompaniment with printed scatters to warm up your sofa.

Grey is a colour that works with so many different looks and this autumn is no exception. Grey can provide a great neutral platform for vibrant colours to pop out from and compliment almost any other colour. Shades of grey can vary from cold to warm, to add warmth you want to go for a grey with a brown, pink or beige undertone. This can be a very calming colour for living, study and bedrooms. If you have a very small space too much grey can become over bearing, in this case just one feature wall will do the trick. Accessorising with scatter cushions, throws and rugs is another way to tie the room together.

We have a vast collection of grey and neutral fabrics to choose from at Camerich in both dark and light hues you’re sure to find one that suits your scheme. For something cosy and soft chose one of our fabrics from the natural collection.

The Metallic finish has taken over interior trends right now and they are everywhere you turn! With lighting designer Tom Dixon’s exquisite metal light range playing a big role.

Introducing metals into a scheme injects this autumns’ fresh inspiration and also provides a great additional texture, this works so well because it dramatically opposes the soft furnishings.

Copper is particularly making a statement this autumn. This beautiful raw material is naturally the perfect hue for a touch of that warm autumnal glow. It can also be used to create a number of different looks. For example the natural shiny surface can be dazzling with bright lights shining on it, or it can offer a more subtle intimate mood in dim lighting. This look does not need to be over bearing, you can easily achieve it by changing a few simple accessories such as fitting a low pendant lamp and small side tables, or even displaying copper candle sticks, tea light holders or vases.

If you really want the full effect of the metallic theme you could go all out with fresh new metallic wallpaper. This dazzling copper brick ‘Lustre Tile’ wallpaper from Zoffany nods towards this modern theme but also holds a rustic charm. Combining with velvets in warm and grey hues creates a sophisticated elegance that speaks of luxury and richness.

We hope you feel as excited and inspired as we do to indulge in this season’s trends!
