A very modern and stylish staircase combining timber, steel and glass. Our model 500 staircase is formed with steel stringers to both sides, frameless glass balustrade down pone side and either timber or glass treads. This stair is a real centre piece model, very open in design and is popular with contemporary properties.
The staircase can be built in a variety of configurations and can accommodate platforms or winding treads at the 90 or 180 degree turn. The balustrade tends to be frameless glass with structural glass bolted directly to the steel stringers with no newel posts. This balustrade can be continued across the opening at first floor level.
Timber treads are most popular and are often oak or beech. These solid treads can be any thickness but are 50mm minimum. Each model is custom made to the height, shape and materials and is carefully drawn before production.
